I grieve for his family, for I never knew the man. I did know his work.

I am thankful for his work, where I have found solstace from life's cares and fuel for the imagination of the child I nurture yet within me. I pray that his spirit may find rest.

Thanks also for the members' thoughts and kind words. Well quoted, Whipsnade.

"Death smiles at us all. All a man can do is smile back."
-Marcus Aurelius

Let us to forget neither his soul, nor his work.

Thanks to Hunters work here, I was able to rediscover my love for Traveller and share similar interests.

RIP Hunter

Rest in Peace and know your life and work touched us.
My deepest condolences to the family.
May the God of all comfort be with all of us who mourn and give us peace.

I'm sorry to see him go. I hope his family bears up well, and that the financial burden doesn't go on so long it overwhelms the grief.

An uncle who 'survived' cancer (the xkcd 'Lanes' comic hits it on the head) is within days of dying from a known effect of his treatment. But he got almost two more years, and we got to see him healthy and happy last summer. But this came on suddenly, and there was no time to spend with him any more (his mind went in a matter of about 36 hours.)

Likewise my sister in law, another cancer survivor, had another attack start last summer (while we were away, of course) and she hasn't felt well enough or, at other times, been able to accept visitors. She's doing a lot better, and we now have reason to hope that she'll come through again. But if this had been it, we would not have had a chance to see her again while she's doing relatively well. (Now we're hoping that she'll be doing well this spring.)

Upshot is, enjoy being with the people you love while they are doing well. Because once you find out that they're not, it may already be too late.

Best wishes to Gordon's family and friends. Gordon himself is beyond the need for such from me. But I'll miss him (have already, since this is the only place I encountered him.)

Sometimes there is good news. My wife is a 49 year cancer survivor. She's at the point now where she has to remind herself of the fact. Each year you make it, the less chance that what you had before will affect you (though the effect on chances of something new coming along doesn't change, of course.)

May he rest in peace.

T20 brought me back into the Imperium after too many years out of it.

We keep losing quality people here, never a good thing.

Another of those "Bugger" moments. Lots I'd like to say, nothing I can put into words.

Another of the Names embarks on his journey.

May the Stars note his passing and grant him peace and comfort from his Earthly struggle.

Deep-felt condolences to his close friends and family in their time of loss.

Dean
