After reviewing the market data he received, Kalos records a short message for Captain Hampton to go over when he's free. "Captain, I've done a bit of research on the latest market trends on Devonia and have some ideas about what cargo might sell well here."
"Our 20 tons of Machinery looks like it would make a nice profit here -- they don't have the industry to produce it, but can effect repairs if it breaks down. The 25 tons of Light Metals might go decently, they'll sell as well here as anywhere nearby. I can put them on the public listing and see what we get. I'd advise doing the same with the 4 tons of Computers"
"We should probably keep the 50 tons of Wood and 5 tons of Electronics for awhile, neither seem in demand here at the moment."
"One further thing I noticed, someone is trying to resell a load of weapons and ammo -- I think I might be able to get a nice deal on them."
"Let me know what you think, Cap."

If Captain Rhodes approves, you could go ahead and list the Computers and Light Metals by laser-comm and maybe have them sold before you land.
For the Machinery you probably want to be there to meet potential buyers and work your Trader wiles to try and increase the sale price.
If y'all are interested in the weapons and ammo (and want to pay less than the rather high asking price), that will probably take some detective work and roleplaying to try and make a deal.

[OOC: 10 is pretty good. I don't have any Rules prepared on fishing , so...]
Donoma catches about 20kg of good eating "fish", including some rainbow wigglers. She should be able to make her money back on the boat, plus have several left over for her dinner.

Donoma
Donoma heads over to the Ornery Oyster with her catch. Cadeyrn is always willing to trade a good dinner and some cash for a fresh catch. And, maybe there's some scuttlebutt. She's getting anxious, waiting for this ship to land.

"Kalos, go ahead and list the metals, machinery, and computers. We'll see where the weapons and ammo lead once we're on the ground and do a face-to-face sale. I want to make sure that when we do business with those kinds of goods we are doing it with legitimate buyers and don't find ourselves as co-defendants in some criminal case later."
"Oh, and log it that we'll make is standard operating procedure to order the update for Library for whatever world we jump to when we arrive at one. It comes out of the ship's funds, but I can pay for it out of pocket if I have to."

[OOC: I made a mistake in recommending that. I forgot that the Fortunate Son is now on a constant acceleration course toward Devonia. Sitting on the exterior of the ship while not accelerating is no problem; at 3 G it becomes rather hazardous, as one false step leaves you behind and lost. Maybe Gayne should come back inside and wait until he is on a planet to find a safe place for target practice...]

[OOC: Sorry, no good Rumors at the Ornery Oyster this evening, just the usual gossip.]

(OOC) Don't the suits have some means of attaching the person walking on the hull to the hull? Magnetic soles, gecko pad attachments, etc..?
So long as something like exists so he sticks to the hull even a little bit, he'll be fine. He is moving relative to the same vector as the ship so as long as he doesn't just kick off unattached by even a safety line on a tangent away form the current vector he should be fine. Now, if we enter combat or some other situation that requires violent maneuvering he may be at some risk and will need to come back inside.
I only bring this up here since it is kind of important to us all in case we ever have to go outside the ship while it is under acceleration to repair something.

Yes, of course. See Ship's Equipment under EVA Gear.
However it is still much more hazardous than when the ship is not accelerating, as if you lose your connection to the ship you will be left behind at 3 G rather than merely drifting nearby and able to toss your magnetic line or use your gas gun. You do it only when necessary, not for recreation.
EDIT: How to visualize 3 G acceleration... Hmm. Picture falling off of a tall building here on Earth, only somehow being pulled down by 3 times as much gravity. That is how fast someone not solidly attached to the ship will be left behind. You don't really want to be just hanging by fingertips, or take a chance on accidentally having both boot magnets let go at the same time!
EDIT 2: The ship is not just moving fast, in which case, yes, he would have the same vector. The ship is accelerating heavily, and if not solidly attached he'd be left behind. Try placing an action figure on a cardboard box. Move the box steadily, no problem. Now kick the box away.
