"2.0" Film - crowdfunding help requested!

Dear Folks -

I'm putting this out as a request for help and support.

My daughter Emma is writing and directing her first short film, and has been raising money through family & friends, and also a crowd-funding site. There's not long to go now, and she's after more help.

It's an SF story is about a scientist who built a female robot, and fashioned her as his "daughter". It's also about the daughter, who knows _what_ she is - and then discovers her "father's" lost love whom she is modelled after - and is now trying to discover _who_ she is. And why.

For those of us who have been burnt by sponsoring other past productions that are still incomplete, I can understand your reluctance to contribute. In the case of this film, please consider the following:
a. It is a student grad film. It HAS to be made, or else the students do not graduate - so no excuses!! ;-)
b. The budget is only a modest AUD$2000 (about USD$1500 at current rates);
c. So no, it won't have huge special effects (which, as we've seen, can hinder delivery), only modest ones;
d. ...which means its goals are achievable. ;-)

Normally, we don't do crowdfunding for non-Traveller projects.

Given the nature of David's LONG association with COTI, I am approving the thread and the links, as is, because I believe Marc would approve it himself.

Can you possibly allow PayPal payments, as some people do not give details readily.

This sounds great. Would it have any Traveller reference within?

If you can get PayPal, then I will definitely put some towards it. More if Travellers is mentioned.

Sound like a great story idea! It's almost Pygmalion, but from the point of view of the statue.

OK, I've got Emma looking into whether she can add Paypal as an option. Will get back to you asap.

OK, we've been able to activate PayPal. It's going via my PayPal account, as Emma doesn't have a credit card - and PP needs a credit card to validate you're not a robot. (See what I did there?) ;-)
