I'm going to echo this sentiment. Very nicely done Wish I could do a deck plan that nicely.

I agree. I was trying a new approach to design on this one and it kind of came out a mess. The machine aesthetic here doesn't really work for luxury, and there's about a dozen things I would change on the deck plan / overall design if I were to take another stab at it. Probably won't though.

And have you thought of a "Stretch Destiny"? Say about 300 dtons with a longer neck? Larger owner's suite, entertainment "deck" with dome exposing starlight...
I'm using AutoCAD for the deck plans, SketchUp Pro for the model, and a little Photoshop for post production.

I wish I'd thought of the "stretch" idea! A stretch limo concept for a luxury yacht is a great idea! I can see it all black and sleek with tinted windows. Hotblack Desiato's ship from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Maybe next time.

Default Deck Plan and images updated

I went ahead and made some revisions to the yacht. The galley and cargo area (really just luggage storage) have been swapped out for the two forward passenger staterooms. Converted the fresher and storage into a bar. Added a ladder and hatch adjacent to the secondary lift. Miscellaneous other minor changes. Since the public fresher is no longer a murder weapon option I guess now you'll have to resort to poisoning drinks at the bar.

Destiny Class 200 ton Yacht

That's it for this ship. It is officially put to bed. I hope to still generate more images of it though.

I love this plan and art! It's amazing. I'll echo the sentiment above that it's better than lots of 'professional' recently published plans.

This is definitely a economy yacht type of plan. The bow of the ship is the prime real estate and the design has a large area of the bow taken up by computer space and a fresher. The lounge in the middle of the ship has a restricted view due to the bow circle area and the protruding port and starboard staterooms and engines.

Again, I love this plan. Not every startship needs to be designed like a Rolls Royce or a fine tuned watch. This is a perfect plan for any number of adventures.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

Might you be willing to post the original AutoCAD files on your site? Some of us have access to AutoCAD.

I'm fine with sharing the AutoCAD symbols, grids, linework and the like, but not the entire drawing.

Beautiful - you could probably sell these as posters (I've a growing collection of starship deck plan posters, primarily from Kickstarter. Sadly I've yet yo use these other than hanging on my walls...)

And I do like your blog as well - a great resource.

Thanks! Anyone interested in a poster can download the fullsize PDF from the link on my blog. Take it to your local print shop and print away. They are made to be printed on 30"x42" so they can be used with 25mm miniatures. All you pay is the printing cost!
