How do you justify the Energy Beam in Shadows?
Wasn't the Energy Beam in Shadows supposed to keep critters off of the Pyramids?
So how can that disable or destroy the Player's ship? Would it be that strong? Or wasn't it just to keep critters away?
How do you justify it if Players ask?

When I last ran it... It's not for critters. It's for station general defence.
A critter managed to accidentally turn it on. Said critter is still stuck in that control...

In the Referee's Notes, it says:
Quote:
The function of the energy beam (shown in the mural at location 12) is to keep flying creatures away from its surface; their excrement left while they perch on it would detract from its appearance
|
That seems very strong if it could disable/destroy the ship.
"General Defense" sounds like a good enough reason.

Scary thought, elsewhere on the planet where the Shadows facility is are flying creatures that require an energy beam of this magnitude to stun them...

12kg and 120cm wingspan. They might be bigger outside the structure, as Mike said.
