BTW... I did like being compared to the Keith Brothers. I wonder if they got death threats and people STILL ranting at them 10 years down the road from any of their publications like I have with mine?

Cripes, totally forgot to set that email address up on the new mail server. I'll go do that right now. I did get your email sent to my personal account and mailed you back a response.

So what does this mean for the small time artists like myself?

That's the beauty of the OGL... once it has been opened, it's not going to be readily closable... so we will have elements of traveller around as long as people share the SRD....
That's Sweet! You mean, I can publish MTU?!?

You know when I first read this, I was thinking 'Microsoft Traveller XP' and all of the hassles that you deal with with Microsoft putting out this version and that version.

But if I can do my own TU - that's awesome!

Now, on the other hand, think about two games (both of which were TSR) that had a Basic and an Advanced. D&D and AD&D, and Marvel Super Heroes. I don't know anyone who bought the Basic version once the Advanced came out. That might be some trouble for Mongoose. Maybe not with the other products they're planning on doing.

As far as working with QLI? Nothing. We're still in business and will remain in business producing products.

Or were you referring to something else?

The details for the TTL/OGL license have been ironed out, but the Runequest licenses should give you a good indicator.

Heh in many ways the Basic version of D&D was much better than the Advanced, particularly when they released the Compenium I think it was?

Where basic D&D beat AD&D was in the gazeteers, the rules for running a domain, mass combat, weapon expertise and becoming an Immortal.

I enjoyed both.

I just had a horrible thought. If the current RuneQuest IP owners are going to be publishing Traveller, does that mean that Ducks will soon be joining the Aslan and Vargr?
