Facebook?

No thanks.

With regards to the final product, will the deckplans be flat so I can use them with chits and minis? Or will they be the "Really good to look at, mostly useless in play" isometric variety shown here?

While I applaud and enjoy all the efforts everyone makes in our hobby, I wish ship designers looking to professionally publish would seriously look at their designs.....in this one how do you access the cargo areas except through really restrictive 3m square hatches? Why are the sensors in the wing hubs where they have horrible blind spots? Only one iris valve from bridge to engine room, great for explosive decompression, twelve cabins instead of six doubles, with private freshers? Turrets only accesible through inaccessible engine spaces or taking up cargo space; fuel tankage either side of accommodation on external bulkheads in six tanks!

Hate to sound so critical but the best name has to be the Banksian .......“Pause for Thought and Contemplation”

I would assume the green line on the fore edge of the lower deck is a cargo door. Likewise, the back edge of the main deck cargo hold, along the wings, also has green edge instead of black.

Mr McCoy - I would recommend a more obvious symbology for the doors than using green against a gray deck. (Tradition is red, with a clear break from the rest of the hull outline.)

Post Regarding deck plans

Hi

I agree on the point about the symbols used on this deck plan. I had to really look closely to find those green lines and I'm not even sure if they are cargo bay doors. Better symbols would help. Also, consider how the doors open. Do they fold down? Up? Open outwards? How is cargo loaded/unloaded form the upper cargo bay?

I often draw external views with the cargo doors open and loading ramps deployed. This helps me to spot errors and resolve questions such as the ones that I have raised above.

And the winner is ... *drumroll* ... A three-way tie! Well at least my choices are narrowed down.
