Check the table again. He gets Gun Combat 1 at Rank 1. The table starts at Rank 0!

True, but that is a title/rank thing, not at what rank he gets it.

At Rank 0 he gets all of his Level 0 service skills, so at Rank 1, as soon as he gets promoted, he gets Gun Combat 1.

Career Book 1 from Spica Publishing has been enhanced! Improvements include:

  • A clearer internal layout;
  • Expanded Mishap and Events tables for the Psion career from the Traveller Main Book;
  • Explanations of some of the unique mustering out benefits available only to Career Book 1 characters;
  • 12 additional pre-generated characters, bringing the total to 40!

Customers can download the enhanced edition from DriveThruRPG.com now!

Requires the use of the Traveller Main Book, available from Mongoose Publishing.

Just an FYI, customers are only allowed 5 downloads* (including the initial one) of any single product for the "purchase" price. So don't make too many incremental improvements/updates. One for fixing feedback issues (though really pre-publication proofing and editing should nail those) is fine, laudable even. Just remember that some of the extra downloads may be insurance against losing a downloaded copy. An off-site backup if you will.

* unless there's a program in place for authors to reset the downloads for correcting pdfs?

The biggest thing was we (OK, me) missed the Psion Career, so we needed to add that in.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great to see a publisher putting out an update. They seem kind of rare (of all I've bought I don't recall any notices of updates, but then I'm not sure any were needed half the stuff I've bought through RPGNow is still unread ).

So it's a good thing, but it just seemed so soon I was wondering if it was the start of several rapid incremental updates and if all (on the publishing side) were aware of the limited downloads.

On the other hand if it's a case of quickly fixing everything likely to need fixing and getting the update out there, double kudos for everyone behind it

You normally get an extra download when an update is posted - if you have 4 downlaods left, it goes back up to 5, if you've got 3 it goes up to 4, etc.

But, yes I agree, repeatedly putting out corrected versions will eat up peoples' download allowances and will lose custom. Which is why the version that is up at DTRPG has had as many issues fixed that we were aware of. No-one spotted my deliberate mistakes in the pregens though
