Default Star system generation aid

Nasty thread necromancy here. Sorry about that but I really thought it was worth adding that I have made available a computerised aid for implementing the basic and advanced star system generation sequences for GURPS Space 4th ed.

The GURPS Handbook of the Planets is an Excel workbook with no macros, and it implements the star system generator from GURPS Space 4th ed. including the economics but not the governmental parts. It incorporates my corrections to the errata in rotation rates and tidal effects, mentioned upthread.

The workbook is too large to attach to a forum post, so I have set up a download page for it here:

I found a subtle but probably important error in beta 21. One column was referencing a 3d6 roll that had already been used for something else. That made a correlation between atmospheric mass and marginal atmosphere that ought not to have existed. I've mended the bug. You ought to download a new copy of the generator.

The latest version is "GURPS Handbook of the Planets beta22.xls".

Thanks for the fix. Downloaded both versions but haven't tried yet. Sounds good.

Does anyone have a copy of this spreadsheet? I seem to have lost mine without a trace.
