Go2 - CT Traveller Campaign
Go2 is a Traveller, a CT campaign for people REALLY into TRON. The premise is, a computer programmer in 1978 starts a program on punch cards after reading CT, and that basic system then grows into a self contained AI through the 80s, 90s, 2000s, until now it plays traveller by itself in a room somewhere. The PCs would NOT be humans, they would be avatars/programs in this AI's Traveller Universe.
There may not be a tech level system in play. There may not be an economic system in play. It may just be characters that ru around doing stuff for "Mods"
A mod could be anything that modifies your basic upp/character program. A skill, an item owned, etc. In this game, if your character has ATV-2 Skill, He has the ATV-2 Mod, which means:
1. He has 2 levels of driving an ATV.
2. He could create an ATV, as defined, on the spot. This ATV could have further mods (armor, a weapon, etc.). The ATV would exist until destroyed or deleted, and could be recalled at any time, in the exact same configuration as before, unless attacked on a file level (which destroys/damages mods)
3. he could create 2 atvs, control his directly at skill level 2, and the second by remote sense at level-0. Both Atvs would be identical, and could even be driven by another character.
In this, instrumentality appears to the character as needed. If you "buy", find, steal, or otherwise get "mountain climbing gear", you add the "mountain climbing gear" mod to your program, and all the ropes, hooks, etc. appear as needed..
With a Starship, the story is somewhat different. If you muster out with a Lab Ship, You get the Mod to create the lab ship, but NOT the mod to operate it, or crew it.
Pilot skill enables an avatar to control a number of "space" vehicles, but the trick is to get the mods to make the actual vehicles. ("Fighter" is popular in this game).
