Animal generation rules

Which edition of Traveller are most people using for their animal generation these days?

MgT1e. I like crunch and detail. MgT provides that to a better degree for me in comparison to the other 2d6 versions of Traveller when it comes to animals.

I prefer MGT2e. Its all the same crunch of MGT1e, but more condensed, compacted. Less stuff you don't need.

Right now, I am working on simplifying the Cepheus Engine rules, and I suspect that I will end up with my own system. The original rules in LBB3 were not that bad. Basically, I see that the animal generation and encounter rules should be as simple as possible to use, as the more complex, the less likely is a Game Master actually trying to use them in a game.

Traveller5.

But I like LBB3's tables too.

With all due respect, I view that as too much data to deal with.

...Just my imagination, the critters run away with me... (apologies to The Tempations)

Been using the LBB3 rules too long to change now, and they are sufficient for combat given how encounters don't go on long enough for more stats. They tend to be custom encounters as part of the adventure anyway.

*Shrug* I can see that. I use the parts I'm interested in, when I'm interested in them.
