Heavens, no! General Puller is still an inspiration to the men and women of the Marine Corps.

I confess that his name got me to thinking of how I could adapt it to fit within the Vilani language "style", simply as a thought experiment.

I happened to roll up a female Imperial Marine character shortly afterwards and got the unusual career results described. The character needed a name and a back story and her name is the only way the two unrelated activities got connected.

Ok, I confess. I tried to ignore the Traveler 5 Kickstarter campaign.

I really tried.

I failed.

So I pledged enough to get some cool swag including noble honours for a character, so I picked Chehesti.

I don't know exactly what honours she'll get, so I'll just have to wait like the rest of the Imperial Enquirer's readers...

I got a new patent of nobility card today for Imaah Chehesti.

Baronness of Byret/Mora in the Spinward Marches.

So that's where her "Chesty" came from.

I'll confess that when I first read this I thought something else, before I remembered the famous U.S. Marine.

you should. She's a tribute to and parody of Chesty Puller.

I'm glad you enjoyed my write-up of General Chehesti.

I'm working up a scenario and associated short story to go with her appointment as Baroness of Byret / Mora.

I just placed an order for some starship deck plans from FFE and got a bonus Patent of Nobility card with my order.

Say hello to the Baronet of Vland/Vland, Imaah Chehesti.

It goes nicely with her Viscounty on Regina in the Spinward Marches...
