Being alive during TOS initial run, I still enjoy it immensely.

One unsavory memory comes to mind: No one else in the extended family was into reading SF, comics, gaming or anything like that. I remember watching "Day of the Dove" at my aunt's house, and her oldest daughter came by. She took one look at "Kang" and screamed at me, "Is that supposed to be a n-----?"

Yes, that n-word is just what you think it is. It does not offend me because I am not one, but I do not need to post it unnecessarily.

I tried to correct her mistaken impression by saying he is an alien, and she screamed the question again. I just said "No" and turned away from her.

Someone save me from people who have no imagination!

I'm very sorry to hear this. We only live so long. Mister Ansara was the epitome of a Klingon;

What else can anyone say? It seems like every week the Reaper takes away another person whose work I've enjoyed. Lately I've been watching "Me TV" a lot, shows like "Star Trek", "Lost In Space", "Dragnet", "Adam 12", old Universal monster movies on "Svengoolie". The other night I saw an old "Night Gallery" with Susan Oliver, Vina in "the Menagerie". She passed away in 1990! Or Ted Bessell, saw him in "That Girl!" the other morning. He passed in '96. A lot of the classic Universal films, every last person in the cast has died, even the kids. It's depressing realizing how many of those actors are gone now.

I posted the passing away of Iain M Banks, you should see how many (or rather how few) comments that got compared with number of views.

I think leo makes a good point.
