Combat Walkers!

Just one question: Are they only usable in the Ripley sense of walking forklifts, or can they be used in combat? Because I wonder if, when armed and armoured they'll still be as agile.

how is it controlled through nerve impulses or magnifying the energy from muscles that are trying to move the legs. I could see it quickly becoming more practical moving away from metals to carbon fiber and lighter materials etc.

Current generation japanese walkers are sensitive enough to be used in nursing hospitals. The manual controls are THAT good.
