What it says in the Title, various rambling, musings and such of one Magnus von Thornwood, Baron Regina and his alter ego (or is the other way around, I get confused about it sometimes), basic boring blog stuff, really are you still reading this? Good for you.

In Moot Member Blogs A Petition for Five Laws of Cybernetics. Entry Tools Rating: 5 Stars!

So being of the Tribe of Science Fiction, I think we need to start a new set of laws for cybernetics. The go something like this...

We of the Tribe of Science Fiction, the Prophets of the Future, having given ample warnings which you heed not, shall be reminded once again of the Most Holy Words:
One. Thou shall not make a machine mind that is capable of controlling every other computer on the planet.

Two. If you do violate the First Law, then thou shall surely not then give it the Unholy Name of "Skynet".

Three. If you being most foolish souls violate both the First and Second Law, then most assuredly then thou does not give control of it to the United States Air Force.

Four. Now surely thou has heeded the Holy Laws, but some are truly ignorant and some are willful and do violate the First through Third Law, you must surely not then give it the ability to control armed robots.

Five. This the Last Law is the most important. Never, ever give a robot a weapon. Weapons are for monkeys only!

It's only fair that we give other primates the right to defend their lives. And that robot gladiator crap is straight robot blood sports. It is cruel and wrong and shameful. We as Creators of a possible new life form have a Responsibility to try and raise a Species to not have to die for amusement or war. It be nice to *waits for the lightning bolt, shrugs and sends a sorry God, but we monkeys got to try...* raise a new form of Life with out an inherent tendency toward violence. I mean, honestly if I were a new electronic cybernetic life form, I frankly would be kinda scared of us too. I mean look at our media, we are afraid of them. Kinda sad actually. We could do so much together...sorry mushy teary eyed transhuman optimist. It balances the above Laws.

Man the future is one crazy ass place these days, I mean really me fellow fans, look, I mean really LOOK at where we, Humaniti, the Terrans, Earthlings, Solomani. We really live in the future these days. Weird, always wanted to live there, just not so keen about where we fall in the Continuum of Space-Time, the Universe and all. It's like we live in the shadowed age, the times of flux and great change and unseen maneuvers. I am feeling oddly old these days. I heard a remix of a Cure song (not as good as Bobby, but hey.) and I am going to a friend's home to see a TV bit about South Korean Power Armor, and sadly I am sorta afraid that he's in now way bsing me....I remember eight bit video games, and my dad's first gen "portable" green screen, telephone handset modem hook up and the key board that was the top and had this long telephone style slinky cord. Now I am typing this on a second hand computer with more computing power than possibly all of NASA, never mind the LEM. I mean for crying out loud, and I still do, I remember the moon shots.

I remember one, and funny thing is I really don't remember which one, just the black and white TV and by today's standards awful resolution, and it was late about ten IIRC, (see shit like that, I mean I here I am using the language of the internet, which was in it's infancy then) anyway, the Launch (it truly deserves caps in my world, sorry *shrugs*), so as I was saying, the Launch was Held and it was looking for a while to go, and my mom, she tells me to I have to go to bed. I whine of course, I mean, I'm a kid, they're going to the Moon, I got to stay and watch it all, I'll miss something. Well, my mom is of course stubborn and of course mom, so she promises me that she would get me up when the Resume Countdown.

Cool thing is she does, and I see it still and there they go, on the huge and most advanced vessel created by man, one column of flame and science they go....

And I watch, and swear to myself, someday, I will go there too. I am not so sure I will, much less, take that crazy ass thirty second breath of fresh Martian air. It's a very deep and personal thing this wish...

Wow, I really do ramble. Oh and the wine and dinner, and basically the night have gone to my head, pay me no mind.

Laterness

Actually This Rambling might more properly be Titled Portfolio of the Self-Appointed Ambassador(s) to the Machines.
