To get this thing rolling, I'll let you in on what I've been trying to accomplish (Traveller-wise) when RL hasn't interfered. I have three things I've been banging away at in my spare time for the last year or more:

1) A newer/different/better/whatever CT/MT style chargen. I want it to accommodate NPCs (like the mechanic working on your air/raft or the barkeep in the starport) as well as it accommodates PCs. This is hard. It entails creating a skills structure, careers (with the attendant skill tables), rolls, etc.

2) Some starship designs. One is pretty close, and I should drop it on CotI for perusal. Another is harder because it's not a normally shaped design. Should be one that folks will like, however.

3) MTU. I am creating a 1/2 Proto-Traveller-sized TU. It started out as a 4 sector x 4 sector grid, but I have shaved it down to a 2x4 (so 8 sectors/ 2 domains). It is from scratch, extended generation, and I am tweaking an excel spreadsheet to make it happen. Unfortunately, I have run into some limitations with Excel causing me problems. I am having to manually wedge in binary stars and sort satellite orbits. This is tedious, to say the least. (The thing only has something like 3500 systems. )

Let's see what I can get done, and posted for y'all in the near future.
