No way am I ready for the party. Especially if I'm hosting one since I didn't see an invite from anyone.

What am I raving about now? Well if you bought the excellent Traveller Calendar from Spica Publishing and aren't too distracted by the Fiery Jesse DeGraff artwork (as I was for the last couple weeks) you'll see that the 30th (why am I suddenly feeling old) Anniversary of Traveller is fast approaching.

Yep, next sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY! July 22, 2007 is 30 years since Traveller was first published according to the calendar. I know it was '77 but the actual date has always been foggy for me.

I must play or run a game in honor, at the very least. Is a week enough time to set up a Moot Group and throw something together? Something fitting? I'll have to try. I've also been playing with a bit of a commemorative filk since I saw the date last night. One of my muses just kind of slapped me on that one. More on that later. Anyone know a voice talent or two who might record it once I'm done writing it if it comes off as well as I hope? It might be neat but I don't think it'd be a paying gig (copyright, cash poor, and such).

Oh well, I should dash and do a few things so I can spend some time on the party preparations.

Well, I'm thinking now maybe I'll run it as Play-by-Post through a private group here on CotI. No need to install anything It won't have the immediacy of chat and may be a bit more cumbersome but the advantages may offset those negatives. Good suggestions on the SR sources. But I've got a bit cooked up already. It really seemed the only way to go once it hit me

What kind of chat? I don't have anything installed (AFAIK), and will have to toss something on the machine, possibly. Suggestions? How about one of the winning ethical patron encounters found in Stellar Reaches? Or one of the adventures there?

OK, so far I'm a little stuck for ideas but I think I'd still like to run a quick one off 30th celebration game this Sunday (local). I have a scenario running around in my head but I'm not sure... There's been a few views here that may or may not suggest interest. Anyone have a request/inspiration for an adventure I can throw together in that time? Naturally it'll be Basic CT (mostly OTU circa 1100) and probably BYOLBB2C (bring your own little black book 2 character) but I'll have some pregen ready as well for drop ins. And it should be runnable in a couple hours or so, probably via chat. So, suggestions?

No promises, but watch this space and your PM box.

Ooooh, let me know if you're going to do something. I'll have to convince the family to let me alone for a bit....
