[SBRD] Fortunate Son First Draft

Didn't get as much done today as I had hoped, but here is the first draft of the Fortunate Son specs, details, and deckplans.

I didn't get all of the details of shipboard equipment finished, or the "ship's business" part w shares and finances, or the current condition of the ship.

But I did get all of Sabredog's specs and notes added and edited, and a lot of additional material added to go with his stuff, and his deckplans added, so you can look at all of that stuff.

I'll do the rest tomorrow - but if tomorrow goes like today as far as my ability to work, then I expect that we will be starting the game on Friday rather than tomorrow.

Sabredog and other players: please take a look and let me know if there is anything that we talked about that I have left out.

Zzzzzzzz.

On the "all decks lined up" translucent view, the key is to find the connections between decks (iris valves, on this ship), and line those up. The engineering airlocks on the Cargo Deck should line up with the corresponding iris valves down from the Upper Drive Room on Quarters Deck. Then the iris valve from the Crew Commons up to Bridge deck should provide alignment for those two.

Just looked at perspective views - I think decks are a little too far apart - should be same distance apart as two squares on the plans.

Sabredog would have to say for sure, but based on what appears to be two squares per displacement ton on the plans, I'm assuming the standard 1.5m squares, w floor-to-ceiling 2.5m and each floor/ceiling .5m thick - so each square represents roughly a volume of 1.5m x 1.5m x 3m (from CT Supp 7 Traders & Gunboats).

For now I developed some perspective views. They are available here: http://subbob.com/SBRD/SideView.html

Do you have any estimates as to the relative heights of each deck? Are they of equal heights? or different? I want to try doing a perspective view.

Using paint.net (open source Photoshop substitute), I played around with the images from the PDF deckplans. The results are here: http://subbob.com/SBRD/ I'm not finished yet, but wanted to share what I had so far. You'll notice on Cargo Deck I replaced all the labels.
