SpaceBadger's Blog: BBCodes stopped working in this Blog Description, so I moved my Links down to a Blog Entry and made it Sticky, so the latest new Blog Entries will actually be below (following) the Links entry.
Back in the Hospital again. My wife is the admitted patient this time and I am the "guest," but I remain disabled and ill myself, and being away from home makes everything less convenient and more difficult, from getting around this place with my crutch or walking stick, to getting clothes clean, to keeping devices and chargers organized (brought my laptop but can't use it bc power cord apparently fell aside somewhere in the last minute packing and loading everything into the car), to actually obtaining food that we want to eat. The Hospital is not the best place for getting any stretch of uninterrupted sleep (unless you're in a coma, I've tried that a couple times and it's very restful!), so therefore not the best place for dealing with chronic pain, so not the best place for me to write or participate in a PbP with any predictability.
She was admitted on Sunday 3/31, so we've been here almost a week now. If we don't go home today, I'll have to make a drive home by myself (four hour round trip) for several items that we just need. My wife is eager to get home, and while I would also like to get home, her primary doctor and I have made a pact that this time she will not be discharged too early, before she is medically ready, thus setting up a dangerous recurrence and need for another hospitalization (as when they sent her home too quickly in January, and now here she is back again in March/April even sicker than before!). He has been visiting with us on a daily basis, even when he does not have scheduled hospital rounds, and will be in this afternoon to discuss whether she is ready for discharge today. I'm not completely sure, but it is close enough that I'll defer to his professional judgment (he's really a great doctor! ).
