I have gone through Sword of Cepheus, and it does look interesting. I would have to give the combat system a try, and also spend some time working on the magic. I have been adding some rank names to various character classes, and I need to check if I can post some ideas on the forum. There are a fair number of typos that need to be cleaned up Naval combat really needs work, as prior to the development of fairly heavy guns, the only way to sink a ship prior to about 1500 was ram it or burn it. Boarding actions were par for the course if you wanted to engage another vessel. The naval combat example that they give does not compute at all. I am not sure how much they crunched the numbers either, as some of them look a tad high for development costs.

One thing that is does need is a clearly defined cleric-type character. That sort of jumped out at me, as clerics are part and parcel of the Sword and Sorcery genre. There is a cleric character, but clerical spells could use some help. The ranks sound like they come from the Church of England, so I have worked up some alternative ranks. The Gods show up on a periodic basis in the Conan books by Howard, sometimes in a quite direct way, as in Phoenix on the Sword.

One area that I am actively working on is a bestiary, with images to go with the descriptions in the rules, with a "few" changes and additions by me. I have most of the animals covered, along with some of the fantasy types as well. Then there are some additions to be made. It would help if there were something to hunt to go with foraging. Some additional magic items would not hurt either. I have ideas on that line as well. Just more stiff to do, along with the rest of life.
