It is always interesting, if not easy work, to do cleaning in the garage. We are in the middle, by we I mean my wife and myself, of major cleaning in the garage, to get rid of a lot of stuff collected over the years which is no longer needed, or chewed up by various and sundry small critters: mice, shrews, and chipmunks are the most likely suspects.
One result is the re-discovery of a large number of books and copies that I had lost track of. One book in particular, published around 1898, covering living animals of the world, has some absolutely gorgeous color plates of various animals, the plates being larger than 8.5 by 11, so I am going to have to work at scanning them. Then there is the recognition book on Warsaw Pact military hardware, which is also loaded with a vast amount of imagery. There are a lot of fantasy copies as well, that I had put away and then lost track of. Now I just need to finish up a couple of other projects, and then start some serious scanning and compiling of clip art books. Should keep me busy, as if I do not have enough projects to work on. I do need to get some more clip art books out, as the free sampler on DriveThru is getting a fair amount of notice.
Then there is the background notes for design sequence developers, and the handbook on weapon effects for wargamers that a couple of guys would really like to see. I need to start working on those a bit. So much data to go through, some on the computer and some still in photocopies and books.
