Well, the morbidly obese (per Nancy Pelosi) governor of Illinois threw in the towel on the lawsuit filed by my church and several others, and has removed all restrictions on churches meeting. The church will be following, to some degree, the recommendations from the CDC for communities of faith. I say some degree, as the congregation is likely to be singing praises to the Lord, which the CDC discourages. I do wonder how many people writing some of the recommendations have ever been inside of a conservative Evangelical church? The same idea holds true for schools, but that is the subject for another post.
I guess the big question will be, does someone try to firebomb the church before Sunday. That is a possibility. The same would hold true for a mass shooter, so I will likely be talking to the pastor. Any mass shooter is likely going to be in for a big surprise thought. Enough said about that.
I am planning on being there if I have to be carried in. IT IS TIME TO FLY ONE'S FLAG, as C. S. Lewis would put it.
By the way, if anyone reading this wants to have their minds expanded a bit in a different direction, try reading Lewis's God in the Dock or Christian Reflections or Mere Christianity. The Problem of Pain is also good. Having lived with pain for the past 44 years, I find it very valuable.
