It has been a while since I last posted here, as I have been busy with a few things, and also spending some time working with Civilization 3 again and spending time on the Civ3 Fanatics forum. A change of pace is always nice.
Among other things, I did loose a very good friend and co-worker in February when my WW2 Class co-teacher passed away. Chris was 10 years younger than me, so this was not exactly expected. I still have not found out what happened, but I know the family very well, and I have no intention of pressing Chris's wife for answers. i might ask his older son eventually. Right now, this summer is up in the air as to what might be going on, so I am in a holding pattern.
With respect to the bizarre scene of the Democratic nomination process, the Apostate is out, along with Nanny Pocahontas, and that strange individual who thinks that he is Hispanice from Texas. The Bern is still in and I suspect that he is going to run as an Independent to punish the Democratics for not nomination him. Uncle Joe, with apologies to Josef Stalin for the insult, is also still in, whether he is with it is another question. It is one of those "if you vote for Joe, you are voting for his VP to become president, possibly in very short order" elections. Stalin clearly lack a conscience or moral sense, but he never had is mental capability questioned. If good old Joe starts babbling nonsense during a debate, I have no idea whet the networks and Democrat will do, but it will not be pretty. Of course, there is always the possibility of Joe being nominated, and not making it to the election. I am not sure it the Democrats have thought through how to replace a dead presidential candidate. I so not think postponing the election is an option. Against that, the Democrats appear to have a very low view of the Constitution, so they would likely argue that as the framers clearly did not understand the modern world, changing an election date is not that important. At least the Bloom is also out, but hopefully he will pay to fly is 5 delegates from American Samoa to the convention, assuming that it is held. After all, his delegates are worth about 30 million or so apiece.
All in all, it should be an interesting fall.
