I found a book on New Zealand from 1908 which looks a lot about how I picture the planet Vinland in the Out Rim Sector. The population is a bit higher, but if gives a good idea of how things might be if written by a studious visitng author. As I am trying to work up a longer planet description for it, this will be a great help. I may borrow some of the names of plants and trees for Vinland from the New Zealand book. I will have to see. The Tech Level is about right as well, roughly Tech Level 4. There are also quite a few color paintings in the book that will come in handy for picturing and describing areas.

For the books, I simply need to sit down and concentrate on them. I have the images, and a fair amount of descriptions in my head, I just need to get it down on paper and computer files.

I did take some time today to have a game of Iron Dragon with a friend of mine, and I won for a change. Donn is a good player, and of late, the load cards have not been in my favor. Today, the cards worked against him, while I had a bunch of nice fur contracts that I simply hung on the the Wee Folk card to get ships, and just sailed back and forth on the north coast of the Bright Continet, making money and not having to build a lot or rail. Donn is a former naval officer, and normally does something like that. Today, the cards just did not work out. One big factor was drawing the Rainbow Bridge care in the initial draw, so that teleporting bridge was in from the start, and helped me a lot. Donn started on on the western side of the board, and never really used the Bridge. Monday night is India Rails, which is always a challenge.
