Well, I have another project on the drawing board. AlexisDownPort posted a review of the latest Cepheus Engine Vehicle Design Guide, so I went back and took a look at my PDF copy. (Yes, I bought it as it always helps to know that the competition is doing.) I will admit that the illustrations are nice, and I will not make any comment on the future vehicles. What they come up with there is not really my concern. The historical stuff is a different category however. For the most part, that is bad. I keep asking myself if anyone working on that did any research besides getting the illustrations right. The answer I keep coming up with is "NO". They cannot even claim that they do not have a research library, as a lot of the information that they should have is on the Internet, if they looked for it. If they are anywhere near a good library, most of the rest should be there. As they are in the UK, they cannot be that far from a good library.

So, now I am working on posting to the forum some thoughts on vehicle and weapons design, citing historical examples. Then, taking those posts and expanding on them, with illustrations from various sources, to further enhance the comments. I am thinking of commenting on weapons effectiveness, specifically shell burst radius, and going from there to pack transport, and then get into vehicles. If anyone who reads this wants to let them know in advance what is coming, feel free to do so. They do not like me a lot, but they might like being warned. Now, shell burst radius might confuse them a bit, as that material does take some knowledge as to where to find it. However, I will be careful to cite sources, and avoid anything that might be a bit touchy with respect to classification. It should be interesting.

SpaceBadger Says:
It doesn't really matter whether your competitors like you or not, except to the extent that you value collegiality and possible collaboration. Likewise, it is not even a popularity contest between you and them, except to the extent you are competing for the same consumer purchasing funds.
