Well, hard to say how much I will post this weekend, as we are taking off for Michigan, on a combination anniversary weekend and to visit our son. While I cannot say that I am thrilled visiting him in prison on our anniversary, he is still my beloved son and I will be thrilled to see him. He has acknowledged his wrong, repented of it, and asked for forgiveness, and I look forward to the day he comes home, and we can celebrate the return of the Prodigal.

We will hit 44 years on Friday, and it has not been an easy 44 years. You do not expect when you are married that within 9 months, you will be hit with a medical condition that turns out to be permanently crippling, or spending your first anniversary in a military hospital. That is when the phrase "for better or worse, in sickness and in health" is not an academic one. We have made it so far, by the Grace of God, and I hope that we can make the 55th too, as then our son will be about out. Having buried one son, I do now want to be buried with my second son still in prison.

We will be doing other things besides visiting our son, as we will be heading for the Shipshawana area of Indiana to visit the Mennonite community there.I do like the Mennonites, although I would not make a good one considering my military career and leaning. It is a totally different lifestyle, and one that I enjoy seeing and would not mind spending more time in. Besides, the cooking it terrific.
