One thing about living in the Midwest is the sudden drastic weather changes. Monday the midday high was 64 degrees, on Tuesday the midday high was 33. It did remind me of my time in Anchorage though, as yesterday and today are both bright and sunny, even if cold. Then there is the wind that goes with the weather changes. Against that, having the same weather all of the time would be very boring. When my oldest brother and his wife were on Hawaii for a year, the sameness of the weather drove them nuts. My brother (and me) grew up in the Chicago area while my sister-in-law grew up in Idaho. They still like changing weather, traveling to Idaho and now North Carolina from Southern California.
One of my claims to fame is having been in Chicago for all five of the worst snow storms in Chicago history, starting with 1967. It is hard to say what this winter will bring. That is up to the Lord, not me.
