Well, in some areas, 1984 is rapidly approaching, with the systematic attack on any and all historical statues which do not meet the standards of the "extremely politically correct" among the near-anarchists currently claiming to be on the forefront of history. I suspect that very few have ever read Orwell, but they certainly are following his sketch for "Big Brother". I fear that when you start tearing down statues of Columbus, Washington, and Jefferson, you have crossed the bar for any symp ...More Read More

The latest battle-cry, or insane scream to be more accurate, from the far-left is to "defund the police", with Minneapolis actually trying to do so. This should be an extremely interesting experiment, best viewed as a distance, preferably from another state not adjacent to Minnesota. The biggest question I have is how long it will take businesses, and residents, to leave the city, never to return. At least on company has already announced it was leaving, but there are likely those who will si ...More Read More

I had hoped to get away from commenting on current events, but they do have a way of intruding on my best intentions. I have been working on Space: 1889 and thinking about having some sort of rift between the Cepheus Engine sector I am working on and the Solar System of Space: 1889. However, back to my not-politically correct views.

Well, the Minneapolis City Council has decided, in its "collective wisdom", to disband the police department and replace it with something else, to be determin ...More Read More

Here are some of my thoughts for my Space: 1889 universe.

Mars is NOT hot. Mars gets 43 per cent of the isolation from the Sun as the Earth does. Every allowing for some carbon dioxide greenhouse effect to boost the temperature, Mars is not going to be hot. Ninety degrees Fahrenheit might be a hot day near the equator. The Coprates might be warm and humid, but not sweltering.

Corollary to the above: The tall, slender Martians were adequate clothing to stay warm, and that does includ ...More Read More

Surface Thought: I got an email from DriveThru looking for contributions from publishers for a Black Lives Matter support bundle. I debated giving them a very blunt reply as to my views regarding that, but decided that they might just decided to block me from hereon. Politically Correct and all that. I will take note of which publishers do participate, and make notes as to not patronize them again.

Deeper Thought: Some, including George Floyd's family, as demanding that first degree mur ...More Read More

Well, my wife and I had planned a New England and Canada cruise for our 45th Anniversary in August, but Canada has announced no cruise ships until October, so we are now waiting to see what the cruise company offers us for the cancellation. We are a tad ticked, as we made the final payment a week ago. We have ruled out a Caribbean Cruise for the foreseeable future until the Chinese Flu virus has run its course.

We are looking forward to our church opening for services in the sanctuary tomo ...More Read More

Well, the morbidly obese (per Nancy Pelosi) governor of Illinois threw in the towel on the lawsuit filed by my church and several others, and has removed all restrictions on churches meeting. The church will be following, to some degree, the recommendations from the CDC for communities of faith. I say some degree, as the congregation is likely to be singing praises to the Lord, which the CDC discourages. I do wonder how many people writing some of the recommendations have ever been inside of ...More Read More

I currently have a bunch of thoughts and ideas churning about inside of my very shaggy skull. Eventually, some of them might be posted here, and some in the regular forum. It will just depend on how politically incorrect they are as to where they go. Some of them are actually game related, so might make the forum. Here they are.

One: Is the United States worth defending anymore, given that governors and mayors are ignoring the 1st Amendment with impunity, viewing the free exercise of re ...More Read More

No, this is not my 44th wedding anniversary. That occurred last year. May 23, 2020 is the 44th anniversary of me waking up with the weird circulatory disorder that resulted in roughly a year in military hospitals, my medical retirement from the army, and now forty-four years of pain and counting. This has not been a very happy week, especially with having been cooped up for several weeks. Now that things are sort of opening up, it is summer, which is my worst time of year, as I am heat-sensi ...More Read More

I suspect that few of the forum are aware of it, but a church in Holly Springs, Mississippi was fire bombed and destroyed on Wednesday. It does not look like the liberal mass media bothered to cover the story, as it was a predominately white church. It was engaged in a lawsuit with the city of Holly Springs over the right to meet as a congregation in the church building. The governor of Mississippi has declared churches essential, but the city of Holly Springs decided that they were not, and ...More Read More
