In either 1998 or 1999 I was at, and ventured into the forums, being an old Trek and SFB fan. I wandered into a thread addressing the Tholian homeworld, or rather its base, or the base that protected the homeworld in the Milky Way (not the Tholians home galaxy).

A few issues; in the old designer's edition (possibly the zip lock edition too, though I'm not sure) a planet was said to be able to have up to a number of ground bases (a full starbase) for each hex side. Appare ...More Read More

Apparently JetSmarter is up for sale for 20 million, and is under investigation by the FAA and FBI. I don't earn millions. Personally I don't see myself as being worth millions. I will not generate millions for any company. Ergo, I'll probably not be using Lear Jets in the immediate future.

And given the cost of $18k to $5k an hour to ride one of these things, I think it's safe to say that the jet set life style is out of my realm. And even if I had bazillions of dollars (to keep weal ...More Read More

Is about colonizing Mars, or mankind reaching out for colonization beyond Earth. At least that's my take. Trek was about inspiring young minds to get into science and security, maybe medicine. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was about inspiring young minds to fight invaders. Old Lost in Space was about accepting or critiquing alternative fringe culture and how it challenged the family.

I guess none of these shows, in retrospect, was just about telling a good story for the sake of it. ...More Read More

I just told some players who were continually trolling my game where to step off. And I told them I knew who they were. Suddenly, I won the next game. I hope I'm not talking too soon. If I have to report every Steam account, then I'll do that.

I don't know how many stinking times I have to b!tch to the feds, but if I have to bang on the front door of the white house, I'll do that. Really sick and tired of this BS.

This whole exercise was some dimwit's version of trying to normalize ...More Read More

This is what I'm talking about?

As I prepare to leave the forum I want to make a few things clear about my "drinking problem"; A) as per my previous log on the subject, I don't have one: B) apparently I'm not the only one in the world who thinks all alcoholic beverages taste purely like isopropyl chemicals.

And going down the reddit forum apparently so do people who actually ...More Read More

Simply put it's a good hobby. Coming here allows me to indulge in that hobby, and in a sense reminds me of a happier time in my life when I was gaming with my friends and that sensation of wonder as you discovered the world.

Remember when you first drove yourself to a place you couldn't get to without having to take the bus or rely on your parents or a friend who could drive? Remember when you got your first VHS or Betamax video recorder, and you taped some show or movie that you might hav ...More Read More

Dragons are cool. Mythical flying reptiles that stream fire from some organ that mixed incendiary ingredients, and like a biological flame thrower, incinerate enemies; knights, peasants and other dragons. At least that's the European version, and often associated with either an intelligent or semi-intelligent reptilian intellect.

If I understand correctly the Chinese Dragon is all about good will and luck, a real economic boom to the village it visits.

I kind of prefer the European ...More Read More

I think it was either the History Channel or a National Geographic production that introduced me to the class of paranoids known as "preppers". People who had either read too many Axel Foley books, played too many Fallout games, or watched too many Mad Max films, take the post-apoc fantasy to heart, and turn a portion of their home (or all of it) into a bunker.

On YouTube type, when I queried him, stated that one of the big issues with prepper types is the possibility of a massiv ...More Read More

When I built my desk top over a year ago, and installed Win10, I opted out of all of the demographic stuff. Ergo it's more the reason why I've gotten ads for all kinds of demographics; minorities, females, children.

So, my hats off to the British Royals, Rotita, Cosmo and Glamour, and even the WWF (I guess they call themselves the WWE these days).

Anyways, I guess the yokes on me. I wonder what it's like building a desktop in the 3I. What is the google equivalent in th ...More Read More

I've been in Cessnas, DC-10s, a good number of 727s and 737s, and one 747, and in all that flying only twice did I encounter two people who were apprehensive about flying.

One was an old lady sitting next to me during a snowy cold winter take off, where the pilot actually skidded the plane as he rounded the turn to the strip to take off. He literally skidded the plane into the take off position, but never stopped. I guess you could say he skidded into the runway and never looked back. The ...More Read More
