So, I'm watching Alan Alda's interpersonal opus about three couples going through the four seasons throughout the year, and I'm reminded of all the things I hate about going out as a couple with other couples. The petty rivalries, the petty lusts after the other guy's young wife, the paranoia and annoyance of hearing your friend or wife say the same thing for the thousandth time. Splitting a bill for a dinner … bragging about your career and accomplishments. I'm reminded of the time I sat i

So, I don't hate old American staples like the Wolfman, Dracula, Frankenstein, the Creatures from the Black Lagoon, and I guess the generic ghost or two. But when those films, mostly black and white, hit the screen I wasn't even born yet. And when their colorized remakes hit the screen, I was too young to not to be scared by American mythos based on European folklore staples.
But I remember as a kid an adult asking me what monster frightened me most. I sensibly answered King Ghidorah.

So, I go back over my journal history and smile when I see an increased number of views. I hope my aimless prattle has entertained some, and so it would appear.
I'm going to try and get more Traveller focused in future web log entries. But thanks! It's cool to see people reading my junk.
So, I occasionally watch a Ted Talk on YouTube. And this one in particular caught me because the speaker, Marc Defant, suggests that the chemical mixture derived from nova and collapsing stellar nurseries, deposited the right elements (or compounds therefrom) within our solar system, and our forming Earth scooped up or absorbed the same right elements and in the right amounts. Further, that the events that led up to us, Homo Sapien Sapiens, are likewise as rare, and were geographic dependent;

I read Chalker's Four Lords of the Diamond series way back in high school, and found them extremely readable. There was no nebulous lack of description prose scenes, nor some strange psychological nor psychiatric agenda (or so far as I could tell). It was a science fiction tale that had some parameters regarding each world.
Lilith; A Snake in the Grass was interesting in that you had a kind of garden of Eden setting where most everyone was essentially without clothes, and the

So … apparently someone thought my little sarcastic tactic from way back in 2005 or 2007 was what I ACTUALLY WANTED in terms of romance.
I'm not going to go into detail …. I've railed about it on my other online web log, and it's not very Travelleresque, so … I'll entertain any PMs on the topic, but needless to say that after all this time this whole BS was about my romantic life.
Whatever. My stress level has dropped to pre-teen levels … where I could go drive up to Strawberry or

Or rather my doctor's told me that I can't have anymore cokes, no eggnog, … nothing sweet or with sugar. Which is a major blow, because the brain uses a lot of sugars to keep data flowing over the network.
So, it's water, it's some special berry juices, it's sneaking in an occasional soda when I hit the drive thru, or a smoothie, but I'm limited to once a month … sometimes a week if I push it.
But, apparently the theory that I had a real issue with alcohol has reared

So, there's a family thing going on that I'm going to have to address. And I probably should have tried writing for Hunter way back in 2002 or 2003. Oh well.
The complex parking lot got flooded in places, and there's a tree behind the house that's leaning over the river that I better keep tabs on. The story seem to have lost some of its strength. During the worst severe storms (those massive hurricane like storms without an actual hurricane) that used to hit the peninsula, would cause

I sold my beautiful water front home in FC to get another water front home here in Marin. Only the water is not a lagoon, but, during heavy rains, turns into a white water torrent with rapids.
All law enforcement is issuing a flash flood warning via email, and I've just been told where I can get sandbags and sand (bring your own shovel; BYOS).
Traveller adventures know no limits. And, like the annual fires, there's absolutely nothing I can do. Oh well.
So, unlike The Empire Strikes Back I'm not a huge fan of Blade Runner, but I like it as a film. It's decent enough. I saw it at the local drive in with my friend and adopted mother. Said Drive In used to be off Air Port Boulevard that runs along the bay front from Oyster Point, past SFO, down the peninsula to the Coyote Point Recreational area. I'd sometimes drive by there at night just to catch a glimpse of a film or two. Fun times.
But, to the movie. It was dark. And the speaker you
