  #274 New Yesterday 12:50 AM
A certain congress critter, who shall remain nameless, recently attended a gala in New York City in a dress (sort of gives it away), that proclaimed "Tax the Rich." Sounds like a great idea. Tax all of those horrible rich people who are not paying taxes like the middle class, until of course you find out what classifies as "rich". Turns out it is an individual making about $410,000 a year. That blew the mind of at least one liberal type. The type of income is not that horribly uncommon amon ...More Read More

A couple of weeks ago, the U.S. executed a drone strike in Kabul, ostensibly to stop a suicide car bomber. U.S. Central Command bragged about what a great job they did. Some great job. The strike killed an Afghan who was working with a U.S. Non-Governmental Orgonization deliveing among other things, food aid. The car was loaded with barrels filled with water for his family and neighbors. The fly-boys killed him and seven children, along with two other adults. Note, this was reported by th ...More Read More

The following is a quote from whoever wrote Biden's teleprompter-read speech today.

"If these governors won't help, I will use my powers as president and get them out of the way."
Now, I have re-read the Constitution of the United States several times in the past few months. I would highly recommend the exercise to all readers. You might actually have to think about things for a change. There is nothing in the Constitution thats allows a president to remove the governor of a state. Pe ...More Read More

As my blog title indicates, I am not at all "politically correct". Read at your peril.

News reports indicate that there are about 32 California Students and 16 parents, all with U.S. passports, still trapped in Afghanistan. There is another report of a telephone conversation with an American woman who worked as an interpreter, who was refused entrance to the airport, and although pregnant was beaten by the Taliban, and is now holed up with 37 other Americans in a house in Kabul. That tota ...More Read More

I strongly suspect that the following quote would not make it to the Politial Pulpit, so I assume that it would be best to post here. The person in the quote is the mother of one of the Marines killed in the suicide bombing in Kabul. The quote is from the New York Post.

Kathy McCollum, whose 20-year-old son, Rylee, was among 13 US service members killed in the attack, told SiriusXM talk show host Andrew Wilkow on “The Wilkow Majority” show that she blamed the “dementia-ridden” president fo

As I am not sure if any more of my comments will survive review in the Pit, I will make additional comments here.

First, here is what is being reported regarding Christians in Afghanistan.

An “unstoppable” media ministry in the Middle East is proving to be a lifeline for isolated Christians in Afghanistan, as the resurgent Taliban go door-to-door, executing believers who refuse to renounce their faith.

Taliban militants are even pulling people off public transport and killing them on t

I will have some comments on Kabul and Biden later, for right now, something that does not leave a very bad taste in my mouth.

We were at the Wisconsin State Fair on Sunday, and met my daughter and her husband there. It was a lovely day, and we had a very nice time. The first item on the agenda was a corn dog. Not just any corn dog, but a freshly battered and fried corn dog. Delicious, and the vendor marked down for future business. Then another treat, a peanut butter Squealer (I believ ...More Read More

Looks like my post on "Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright" is not getting looked at. I wonder if it reminds viewers of high school or college English. It might not be taught anymore though, as it was written by a dead, white male, who also happened to be English, clearly one of the "oppressor groups". The fact that he is viewed by people who have some capacity to think for themselves as one of England's finest poets is beside the point. He was white, and therefore must be viewed as "inferior" to a ...More Read More

" Tyger, tyger, burning bright" is the title to one of William Blake's more famous poems. Blake was one of England's "Romantic" poets, and one of the best. He was also one of the finest, if not the finest, engravers that England ever has produced. Along with this, Blake was also a committed Christian at a time when committed Christians were in short supply in England, the Church of England notwithstanding. Some of his poetry works can be found on Project Gutenberg.

The poem opens and end ...More Read More

I started making this post three times on different subjects, but never got beyond the header. Then, at dinner, my wife wanted to show me a Facebbok post that a couple who are friends of ours had put up. July is National Bereaved Parents Month. That couple had lost a son to suicide, and are still dealing with the loss. Readers may find this shocking, but that is normal when you loose a child, regardless of the age of the child. We buried our first son in May of 1985, and the pain is still ...More Read More
