Well, the morbidly obese (per Nancy Pelosi) governor of Illinois threw in the towel on the lawsuit filed by my church and several others, and has removed all restrictions on churches meeting. The church will be following, to some degree, the recommendations from the CDC for communities of faith. I say some degree, as the congregation is likely to be singing praises to the Lord, which the CDC discourages. I do wonder how many people writing some of the recommendations have ever been inside of ...More Read More

I currently have a bunch of thoughts and ideas churning about inside of my very shaggy skull. Eventually, some of them might be posted here, and some in the regular forum. It will just depend on how politically incorrect they are as to where they go. Some of them are actually game related, so might make the forum. Here they are.

One: Is the United States worth defending anymore, given that governors and mayors are ignoring the 1st Amendment with impunity, viewing the free exercise of re ...More Read More

No, this is not my 44th wedding anniversary. That occurred last year. May 23, 2020 is the 44th anniversary of me waking up with the weird circulatory disorder that resulted in roughly a year in military hospitals, my medical retirement from the army, and now forty-four years of pain and counting. This has not been a very happy week, especially with having been cooped up for several weeks. Now that things are sort of opening up, it is summer, which is my worst time of year, as I am heat-sensi ...More Read More

I suspect that few of the forum are aware of it, but a church in Holly Springs, Mississippi was fire bombed and destroyed on Wednesday. It does not look like the liberal mass media bothered to cover the story, as it was a predominately white church. It was engaged in a lawsuit with the city of Holly Springs over the right to meet as a congregation in the church building. The governor of Mississippi has declared churches essential, but the city of Holly Springs decided that they were not, and ...More Read More

I had to run to the Post Office this afternoon, and discovered that there was nowhere to park. That is about normal for the Post Office that I use on a Monday afternoon. So I drove down the street to the feed shop that some young friends of mine had bought, and chatted with one of the owners. Note, neither of us had masks on, as we both wear glasses, and masks do tend to fog up glasses. As we chatted, I looked at a small strip mall across the street. No cars in parking lot, no sign of life ...More Read More

I must admit I am getting pretty tired of the cracks about how the virus has been handled by governments, without a single constructive comment as to what could have been done better given the information available at the time. Twenty-twenty hindsight get sickening after a while. As for the media, they are so anti-Trump that they have lost all credibility with me, and quite a few other people. When it comes to the virus, I think that they are hoping millions will die, just to try to get rid ...More Read More

Well, things are beginning to get more interesting. With the Wisconsin Supreme Court tossing out most of the Wisconsin shut-down order, schools were left closed, it appears that a message got through to the Minnesota governor to start opening his state up. With Indiana opening up on a steady basis, and Iowa never having really closed up, Illinois and Michigan are beginning to look more and more like a couple of very odd states out. The Illinois Supreme Court has not, as yet, made any ruling ...More Read More

I spend about 6 months working with my Grandfather delivering propane gas to trailer courts and some houses in northwestern Indiana. We spend quite a bit of time talking in the truck as we drove about and also when we stopped for lunch. We had a regular route, and generally by the time we had the truck parked and were walking in the door, our booth and coffee were waiting for us. My Grandfather was born 3 months after my great-grandparents arrived in the United States from the Netherlands. ...More Read More

When the lockdown started, I told my friends that I thought that people would obey up to a point, and then they would start to rebel and say "enough is enough". I figured that would start occurring around May 1st. Some states started opening up around then, some did not. Now I think that things are starting to hit the snapping point. Businesses are starting to open in defiance of stay-at-home orders, a case in point being Tesla. If Tesla is not shut down, it will be very hard for the State ...More Read More

Tomorrow, on Mother's Day, it will be the 35th anniversary of my making the decision to terminate life support measures for our first son. Hopefully, that will not cast a pall on getting together with my daughter and her husband to celebrate it. We will see, but the weather is not going to be helping, based on the rain mixed with snow forecast. I hate lousy weather on Mother's Day.

I guess some people could argue that after 35 years, it should not trouble me, but then, they have never bee ...More Read More
