Again, I am odd man out with supporting Trump. Like Facebook, it is better not to know someone's politics if you are going to be sharing a forum with them. I probably have given some people more reason to dislike me, but such is life. As I see if, if I go through life worrying about who I might offend, I will never say anything. It is best to know one's enemies anyway.

As for that idiot Khan, did it ever occur to him and his backers that some people simply like to hurt other people? I d ...More Read More

Well, I have another person ticked off with my comments on the vehicle design book, so it looks like any more comments on that in the forum are not going to be welcome. Given my background, I am not going to change my views. I will just chug along and see what happens when I start getting stuff out. I do not think that they can block me from putting out my own version of the Cepheus Engine rules, but one never knows. Considering how much I am going to be changing them, I am not sure if they ...More Read More

It looks like no one likes the post on doing some research, which does not exactly thrill me, but then, I like to do research. I figure the more research you do for a product, the better the product will likely be. Then there is the converse.

I have been going through Edward Attwood's The Modern Warship, from 1913, which is a very useful book, as many of the design parameters do not change. According to D. K. Brown, Attwood was head of the battleship design division in World War One, and ...More Read More

It would be nice if some of the people putting out vehicle design guides would actually do some research on what they are looking to design. As some of them are in the UK, it should not be that hard to track down some copies of books on British warship construction or copies of early Brassey's Naval Annual. The wartime costs of U.S. aircraft for the Army Air Force is in both the Official U.S. Army history and the USAAF history by Craven and Cate. Going through some of the U.S. Army Official ...More Read More

Well, given that the Cepheus Engine group has come out with a vehicle design book, I probably need to get to work on a vehicle book for the Out Rim. I do need one, along with some standard ship designs, so I might as well start working on one. As the sector is not excessively high tech, and has a lot of lower tech worlds, focusing on historical vehicles up to roughly Tech Level 8 should be the way to go. I will have to figure out art work for higher tech level vehicles, or just go with a fai ...More Read More

I am trying to figure out how much longer to engage in the battleship discussion for a Tech Level 5 ship. I am getting the feeling that I am getting pretty much ignored, and I am not sure I want to invest a whole lot of time commenting on someone who has already made up his mind as to his correctness, or at least the viability of the rules that he is pushing. I do get the idea that what he is hoping to do is get me to design an accurate ship as comparison to his, and I have no real desire to ...More Read More

One of the guys from the Cepheus Engine group is snooping around here. Now I have to decide if I simply quit posting anything having to do with my ideas. I clearly need to avoid making any more comments about the rules or derivatives, as I already have at least one moderator on my case. My experience with moderators is that they would all love to ban me on any possible excuse, a couple in particular. My gut feeling is that I say much more, and I will be off the air for a few weeks as a minim ...More Read More

I was just poking around at some of the blog controls, and discovered that someone REALLY DOES NOT LIKE my comment on Christians being killed. While guests can view a blog, they cannot comment on it, so that sort of narrows down who might have viewed it so negatively. I guess I hit a nerve somewhere. However, as stated in the title of the blog, this is not going to be politically correct in any way, shape, or form. If the blog offends someone, so be it. They do not have to read it, or even ...More Read More

I thought about putting this along with the Cepheus Engine material, but decided to post it separately. I am not sure if it made a lot of national headlines, but it did make the Chicago ones. Over the past couple of days a woman, her daughter, and one of them's boyfriend, strangled a pregnant 19 year old who was 9 months pregnant, cut the bady our of her once she was dead, so that the older woman could claim it as hers. Surprise, surprise. When they got through cutting the baby out, the bab ...More Read More

My guess is that the guys are the Cepheus Engine do not exactly like me, as aside from panning their new vehicle design guide, I keep asking questions about the System Reference Document. I have no idea as to why adding armor to a ship should take up 5% of the ship's volume for every add. Material used for armor tends to be dense, not as light as Liquid Hydrogen. Now if adding that armor does take up that much volume of a ship, then punching a hole in it with a laser is going to take some do ...More Read More
