...I might have mumbled something on this before, but hey, loosing my memory means I get to tell stories over and imagine it's the first time

A bit of further explanation of the "not quite" true story that sparked the post here:

"Three kids walk into the armed services recruitment center... "

...there's a joke/punchline there somewhere but I left and don't know what happened to the other two.

Anyway, I was ...More Read More

Do you smell that? It's irony, son. Nothing else on the world smells like that. I love the smell of irony in the morning...

Smells like........ Victory.

Some day this war's gonna end.

So what am I on about now? The whole silliness of version wars. Faction zealots screaming at each other about who's game is better. Blaming the others for all the woes of the hobby. And never once realizing what part they play in it, and hence the irony. It gave me a sad chuckle again this morning when I ...More Read More

Catchy, no? I was thinking of using it for a Classic Traveller campaign title or some such... images of an order of Red (Traveller's colour) Knights of The Imperium...

...until I checked since the spelling seemed wrong. I was right, or rather it is a word but not the one I thought. It's rather a different word actually*, a word I wasn't familiar with. However, all the more appropriate in a way for it's origin. Anyone care to guess how I got the title of this Travellog entry? There's a clue i ...More Read More

...yeah, I'm back. Had a moment there though (what's my password?) It's been that long since I actually logged out that I wasn't sure what generation of password I'd last used here. First guess worked though, brain's not totally dead, yet.

And not that much to catch up on from the looks of it. Ninety-one threads, though a couple look long.

Without going into details that will just raise tensions again, simply, I apologize sincerely to all for not walking away before blowing off steam. ...More Read More

...but recent events and such have me deciding to move on. Pack it in. Quit CotI. Sad but true. I thought It'd never come to this day but there's no turning the calendar over and looking at a fresh new day. I just can't keep up the charade of enjoying the company of all (well most) here and sharing the interest of our olde game. So the old trader is packing his bags and setting a course for other stars, maybe the second to the left, and straight on until evening...

...or at least noon

Don't know how many regular readers (heh, are there any) of this Travellog were aware, but I had a little play by post game going on the CotI Groups thing until Hunter had to shut down that feature for security reasons.

Anyway we couldn't wait any longer so I've moved us to a Yahoo Group. It'll be closed to membership/posting (for now) but open for looking (for now) if you want to follow the story. See the link below if you're interested. Won't be much to see for a bit as we reorganize and r ...More Read More

...maybe it's just because I was watching the movie just hours before the announcement but I'm scared

What announcement?

Well, the local politicians have finally announced the long anticipated provincial election, with much emphasis on "28 days to the vote". I got the heebie jeebies right away.

My mind flashed on the image of me getting a concussion and waking up 28 days later to find that the whole time I was unconscious a virus had infected the population and they were running ...More Read More

This kind:

Work Begins...

Coming Along...

Nearly Done...

Anyway, that's why I was less active here the last bit, fell behind in the Travellouging(?), and was slow to get the PBP going.

At least it appears so. After a frustrating week, spoilt weekend plans, and a difficult birth my little baby Play By Post is here! Its so cute Wanna see the pictures?

Just kidding. It does seem to have gotten a good start though, I'm hopeful that this unexpected early hiatus won't kill it. I'm outta here and outta comm range for a week and a bit.

Take care all. Especially you Border Reiver, haven't heard back yet so I'm a bit worried that the flooding is messing up your life. And Bur ...More Read More
