Well, this might be my last time for the Men's Retreat, unless my legs improve. Friday and Saturday went okay, although I was getting a bit sore on Saturday night. I did get to my favorite farm market for some goodies, including a jar of lingonberry sauce, as I was running out. Cannot have too many lingonberries, or pickled Brussel Sprouts for that matter. I did that on Saturday. Sunday was not a good day at all, with probably the worse the 4 hour ride back home from Door County, hurting th ...More Read More

I finally figured out that the password I remembered for my website only covered the billing aspect, and I needed the password for the main site. Deciding that the simplest approach was a new password, I got one set up and then made sure I had a copy of it stored safely away. Now I just need to get to work on it. I am not sure what design software to use, but preferably something that is free, until I actually start to sell stuff on DriveThru. Another thing for my already overly-long to-do ...More Read More

Assuming that all goes to plan, as I have learned many years ago that "best laid schemes o mice an men, Gang aft a-gley", which is not guaranteed, I will be heading up to Door County, Wisconsin tomorrow for a Men's Retreat from my church. From pictures recently posted, it looks like the Fall colors will stand comparison to New England. It should be a good weekend in Bible study and fellowship with a nice group of guys. Hopefully, I will be able to convince one of the guys to make a run with ...More Read More

Well, a rough 15 months looks like it might finally be seeing some resolution, although not exactly the way my wife and I would like. Our 26-year old son was arrested for possession of child pornography in May of 2017, and has been in jail since then, in the federal system. After a long period of haggling, a plea agreement was reached, and now we are just counting time until the sentencing hearing. What that will be is something we are praying about, and working on getting friends who know o ...More Read More

I decided after a long absence to get back on Ogame. I am not sure what a "peaceful" or "economy" universe is about, but I will find out. The game does have its points when it comes to building things, and I do like to build things.

I am back to working on my Piper-Norton Out Rim Sector, using agorski's sector builder. It does look like it will be quite helpful. I just have to learn how to use it.

I am also now working on a supplement to Paul Elliott's Fast Magic book, with some modified skills an ...More Read More

I am getting back to work on this, especially because ideas keep bubbling up in my head for it, and if I do not get them down, they bubble away and burst. Art Gorski's SectorMaker looks like it may speed things up, as I can generate a sub-sector and then play around with the worlds a bit until I get the ones that I want. It would be nice if the text was not in blue, for my older eyes to deal with, but unless I want to somehow write my own code, I will use what is available.

I will have to r ...More Read More

I understand that there are advantages to having the Imperium exist, or sort of exist, or not exist, depending what version of Traveller that one is playing, I just cannot see the likelihood of such an entity existing in the first place. The communication lag alone would prove lethal, without adding in the extreme range of government types, law levels, population sizes, and world conditions. Add in a couple of alien species that like to raid their neighbors, along with one human group doing th ...More Read More

Blue Ghost has his fantasy rants, and I guess my rants are design sequences. I picked up several vehicle design sequences in the past week or so, and both have their problems. The biggest one of all of them is that the author are trying to use the same design sequence for ground, air, and nautical designs. That just does not work. Ground design, aerial design, and nautical design are three different areas. Ground design puts a premium on moving about. For nautical design, it has to float, wh ...More Read More

Well, my sister and brother-in-law in Wilmington, North Carolina came through the hurricane okay. The branches down in their yard was about on par with a good thunderstorm in the Midwest, but still waiting for power to come back. My brother-in-law is helping to man a shelter with over 300 evacuated persons, so for those inclined, some prayers for him would be appreciated. He is a great guy. My sister is waiting to see if she gets called in by the hospital to do some actual nursing, rather t ...More Read More
