I have not been on here for a few days, as I suspected that my thoughts might be a bit too volatile for even a blog. I guess the Democrats do tend to provoke that in me, along with the gun-grabbers. An unspoken part of this whole view is the concept that "Man is basically good" and society makes him bad. Given the history of man, I am totally at a loss why anyone would hold that view. But that is life.

I do find it somewhat troubling in the responses to my "Great Men" post that two at le ...More Read More

Well, with teaching done, I hopefully can get back to work on a vehicle book and bestiary. I am just trying to determine a good format for the vehicle book. I am not that great with Adobe Acrobat, but I could probably use the Table format in Pages to put information together in boxes. Against that, it probably would be faster and easier to put the information in a less formal format, like some of the performance sheets for aircraft in World War 2 were done, and as I also did for my Victorian- ...More Read More

Well, my teaching time is over, and it probably will run differently next year, as I can no longer make any morning class. We will be talking over the next couple of months as to what to do for next year, but it will be a major change from the past 15 years. I cannot say I am thrilled with that idea, but it is basically what I am capable of doing. The nerve damage in my back is taking a toll.

I will be more careful in the future about what I post regarding non-Traveller topics. I did not ...More Read More

Well, I was at my 50th high school reunion on Saturday and had a pretty good time, and no, I did not get drunk, as the strongest thing that I drank was coffee. Not bad coffee, not great, but not bad for a caterer. Saw some people that I had not seen in a while, and some that I saw at my 50th Junior High reunion. Some of the girls had not changed at all, and some had changed a lot. It was the guys that I had a hard time recognizing, except for a couple. I did get together with my usual group ...More Read More

I look at the thread labeled T5.10 Errata, and keep wondering if the ones posting there are reading the rules to see what they say or are they reading the rules bo find mistake. I have not figured out to ask that question in the thread without being hit with a "trolling" violation. I have started to skim the rules, without trying to find problems but to see what new things might be in there, along with the old. Since I have my summer teaching stint, it will be a while before I can really go ...More Read More

It would appear that the Pit is now politically correct in that it only allows negative comments with respect to Trump. Now I am posed with the question do I remain on a site that demands political correctness, or just proceed until the powers that be get tired of me and ban me for life. I do not think that this is Marc's idea, but I suspect that I do know the one responsible. I know that he would absolutely love to ban me forever from the site. As for those making the negative comments, th ...More Read More

I picked up the new Gypsy Knight vehicle book after looking at the contents online. It is primarily grav vehicles if various types, in the Tech Level 10 to 12 range, where John says that the Clement Sector is at. That simplifies things for me a bit, as I will be focusing on primarily Tech Level 8 to 9 and lower vehicles, as that better fits my sector. I probably will try to design some grav vehicles, but I am not the greatest artist in the world. I may have to see if I can get someone to do ...More Read More

I debated for several days about posting this, and finally decided that regardless of the consequences I would. A friend of mine posting a news article on Facebook from June 9th of this year about an attack on a village in Mali, that is a country in Africa on the south edge of the Sahara Desert. An armed group arrived on pickup trucks and motorcycles, surrounded the village, and then began firing. The village was then burned. The casualty report by the government was at least 93 dead, inclu ...More Read More

Well, my Concealed Carry application is moving forward, and I passed the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course along with it. Based on my observations, someone used to semi-automatic pistols is not going to understand a single-shot revolver at all unless shown how to use it. I still prefer the .45 Colt M1911, but I will have to see if I can still shoot it well or not.

I have been going through Scheer's book on the High Seas Fleet in WW One, along with Tirpitz's memoirs and Hamilton's Gallipoli ...More Read More

Aside from working on the bestiary, I keep thinking that I should get to work on some sample vehicles for the Out Rim, and give thought to posting them. As I have a fair number of planets with lots of water, some nautical vessels would make sense, probably using mainly wind power for propulsion, along with some basic steam vessels. I do have "Vinland" using steam ships for river transport, and the more advanced planets, especially the Space Viking ones, would be using nautical ships as well.
