Color Images Book Coming Along
|
#176
September 22nd, 2019 06:52 AM |
Well, I finally go going on my color bestiary booklet with some additions and I sort of got into a grove. It is going to be a bit bigger than I though, and I will not be trying to plug hit points or anything like that into it. I will make sure everything has descriptions that will be more than adequate to understand what everything is. It might take a while to put it together, but it is coming along.
I still need to get another black and white freebie put together as well, as I came acros

Booklet Ideas

I have figured out what two booklets that I am going to try to get out in the next couple of weeks on DriveThru. One will be another Freebie, with a blend of weapons, animals of various types, some vegeation, and some scenery, all black and white, and about 16 pages with about 24 to 30 images. I might go a bit longer if things are moving along well.
The other book will be mainly of animals, and some plants and plant products, but with most of the images in color. That one will not be a Fr

Busy Past Week
|
#174
September 15th, 2019 05:10 AM |
It was a busy week, most of the busyness being trying to keep the basement dry when we get over two months worth of rain in 5 days. Add what we have had earlier in the month, and it is more like 4 months worth of rain. Yes, I looked up at the National Weather Service website what the average rainfall for my area is. I need to remember to post some ideas as to how to use the NWS website for a game.
Then my Concealed Carry Permit came through, so I can carry if need be. Right now, that wil

Well, my Moot Subscription runs out tomorrow, and no sign of being renewed, despite sending Mr. Miller a check last Friday, which should have arrived in Bloomington on Tuesday. He might be a bit ticked about the reason for reducing the amount of the new subscription from my prior one. I guess I will have to ssee what the powers-that-be decide to do. Hopefully, Mr. Miller will has not lost the check, as he has one previously. If the subscription is not renewed, I assume that I will get the c

Renewal and Thoughts
|
#172
September 4th, 2019 03:38 AM |
Well, I sent Mr. Miller my renewal for the Moot, and now I have to see if he will accept it and renew the Moot Subscription. There does seem to ba a lot of interest from the Guests, more than the forum members, which is one reason for renewing.
I keep debating about posting some pro-Trump comments in the Pit, just to see if they would be allowed. That probably will stir up a wasp's next, but such is life. Maybe some anti-gun control comments to add to the mix. Right now, I am debating if

My wife and I visited Shipshewana, Indiana earlier in the week on the way home from visitng our son in Milan, Michigan. We have been there before, but it has been a while, and I had never been to the Flea Market that is there on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from May to September. If you have not been to Shipshewana, and are within about 6 hours or so driving distance, you are missing out on a slice of life that is divorced from the rush of the urban life style. I would not mind moving there, alth

Off For Weekend
|
#170
August 21st, 2019 09:09 PM |
Well, hard to say how much I will post this weekend, as we are taking off for Michigan, on a combination anniversary weekend and to visit our son. While I cannot say that I am thrilled visiting him in prison on our anniversary, he is still my beloved son and I will be thrilled to see him. He has acknowledged his wrong, repented of it, and asked for forgiveness, and I look forward to the day he comes home, and we can celebrate the return of the Prodigal.
We will hit 44 years on Friday, and

A Friend's Loss

I had thought that this post would go into some of my ideas for design sequences, or at least adapting vehicles to Traveller/Cepheus Engine. However, that sort of got kicked into the back of the line by what happened in Life this weekend.
A good friend of mine at church wife suffered a massive heart attack on Thursday night. It turns out that 4 arteries going to the heart were from 80-90 per cent blocked. After getting the family in town, she was taken off life support today as she was br

Quixotes

Well, looking through some of the older threads that Guests have been looking at has been enlightening, to say the least. It would appear that I am one of the Quixotes. I am not sure how that compares to being one of Hillary's deplorables, but I suspect that it is reasonably close. The idea of "less than desirable" is definitely there, along with a touch of contempt. Having been the odd man out on a fair number of threads does fit, and the individual who coined the term is someone who I hav

While checking Project Gutenberg, I came across an interesting book on an extensive tour of the Russian Empire, circa 1885. Aside from giving me ideas for Traveller, it has a ton of stuff for Space: 1889, for obvious reasons. The author has a whole series of these books based on his actual world travels, and the urge to work on Space: 1889 is building. I keep thinking of putting out some new News Flashes and see how the forum reacts. I might just do that. I have spent a fair amount of time
