Started a new writing project for MgT last night (well it had been mulling around in my head for over a year). So I started writing last night, 2,500 words. Chatting with my 'professional brain care specialist' today about it. She nearly fell off her chair when I told her I can average 4,000 when I'm working on a project. I didn't think that total was particularly impressive.

This is mostly self indulgence, so bear with me. I'm six months into my transition now, three months of them living full time in my new life. Finding a lot of changes, I look different, my morning routine has gone from maybe ten minutes to at least an hour. I own a lot more shoes and clothes than I've ever owned in my life.

I'm slowly finding my feet, resuming both playing and writing for traveller. One of the changes has been to my writing style, finding a lot more focus on 'adult' topics a ...More Read More

Playing scrabble with LSVTP and plunked down letters at random and got Quean. Apparently it means an imprudent or mishaving woman. So renaming my blog I think

Okay well first things first. Just in case anyone hasn't figured it out, Andrew has become Andrea with attendant change in gender. Plunging back into HGS, working on the refit option. Writing something for Mongoose, hopefully they'll publish it and keeping up with a few things for JTAS.

Okay, changed my name. Should be simple to change my online presence to reflect that. Mostly not a problem. All except the &*!@!!! ct-starships list. Log in, create a new account to reflect the new name, tells me I need to activate or fill in my profile to request to join. Do that, will it recognise I've done it, NOOOOOOO!!!! Screams

(Okay feel better now)

2nd Edit

She looked on Ciia's broken body, she thought of Firlavas, Arynro, all the things she had seen and done. This was no way to fight a war, it was all so pointless. Suddenly, in an instant, she understood. She laughed as her heart turned to steel.

She bent, closed Ciia's eyes, one final kiss. She reached for her communicator “I'm done here Dalen, I'll gather anything useful and come back.” She thought, raiding Ciia's tomb, it might take several trips.
“Are you alright Liadt ...More Read More

The soft voice responded “Liadtee?”
“Yes Ciia, it's me, I'm here.” She placed her key back around her neck.
Dalen cut off the communications “Liadtee, please, we can't save her, if we don't act she'll suffer terribly.”
“I can't do it Dalen, I can't, it's Ciia, Ciia's in there.” She was trembling with emotion.
Dalen tried to reason with her “She'll die a horrible slow death if we don't.”
“I love her Dalen, don't you understand, I love her too. I can't let her die, any more than I could see ...More Read More

The destruction wrought on Arynro tainted Liadtee's mood the entire journey home. She spent much of the time in the small garden in her room, dealing with the guilt of so many deaths, so much blood on her hands. It didn't help that Dalen told her as much of it was on his hands too. She'd not visited their world since. But today he'd insisted, he needed to hold her, he was missing her and his sleep had been restless of late. Dreams of destruction and death, he needed to touch her again. He felt ...More Read More

They spent as much time together as they could. Liadtee figured a way to enter control without scorching her hand, a simple glove. Dalen was a telepath, a powerful one, perhaps not quite as strong as Liadtee, there was no way to be sure, but she taught him what she could. He could share the burden, extend the time they could share and it had given them another special thing to share. Together they slowly built a world where they could escape to. A home, a garden, a quiet wood to walk in. There ...More Read More

The room beyond was filled with a soft red light. For such a vital place it was tiny but there was no need for much space here. It was cold, her exposed left hand stung as daggers of freezing air touched the blistered skin. She crossed to the table in the centre. Dalen had been right, she didn't want to see, but she had to. She could see the multitude of wires and tubes, every signal and command passed through what lay in that table. She looked, the table was far too large for what it held, the ...More Read More
