I wanted to log a confession. My barony was awarded by accident.

I supported the Kickstarter at the level of a knight. There was a delay between the completion of the Kickstarter and the shipment of the books. When Marc announced that shipment was finally at hand, he stated that Paypal members would get shipped first.

This was just before my 52nd birthday, so I sent an e-mail to Marc humbly requesting if, despite the fact I do not do Paypal, would he please ship my package so that I coul ...More Read More

Function is not the same as purpose. Purpose is what function an object is intended to preform, not what function is actually performs. Purpose is a mental construct. Function is what the object physically does, what effects it actually creates.

Lemish has a Law level of C, unrestricted invasion of privacy, and ruled by a civil service bureaucracy. Lemish also has an efficency of +2, acceptance of 8, a strangeness of 8, and a symbols of F (16)

A civil service bureacracy with unrestricted invasion of privacy is the recipe for a totalitarian dictatorship. But the efficency and acceptance of the Lemishi indicate a happy place, a culture that works. Totalitarian dictatorships are not happy places. Why are the Lemishi able to grant that ...More Read More

That societies naturally divide themselves up among classes, castes or whatever subgroups one wants to call them. Regardless of class/caste/whatever, people is people. There are certain commonalities in motivation and goals for most people. Most people want to eat, drink, be happy. Humans are different from most animals because, 1) we have the ability to reason, whether we use it or not. 2) we can produce many of the goods we require to exist.

A society, to the "NeoFunctionalist", can be see ...More Read More

Because Lemish has a population of 1 million, T5 called it a colony. I ran with that description, and tried to figure out what kind of colony Lemish is. I came up with the idea of "Neofunctionalism" as a baseline philosophy.

My first attempt at writing up Neofunctionalism was horrible, and inflamitory. The moderators pulled it, thankfully. Later another poster wrote up a world with "no religion" and I cringed. He took some heat for his imaginary world's attitude to religion. I was spared tha ...More Read More

Okay, I have to admit that I got a bit creeped out at how quickly the discussions of weaponized chocolate turned into biological warfare. I know its all theoretical and speculative and imaginary, and when you think about it, it is a logical extension. Still quite creepy how the quickly the subject of imaginary genocide comes up.

Drug warfare is a quite different proposition however. Allowing an enemy to voluntarily poison itself is a intriguing alternative to indiscriminant warfare.

Today, was talking to my daughter, when she revealed that she married a Vulcan. Her husband does have a reserved personality, I thought it was a bit much, but she said it is okay. Her mother was a Vulcan.

While her mother and I have been married for several decades, she does have a very rational and practical side. But she has been telling people for some time now that her mother is a Vulcan and her father is a Klingon.

Well sometimes my temper does get the better of me.

Someone whose work I love, liked my latest pic.

Ever since I got the barony card, it has been enjoyable worldbuilding and trying to work out the story behind Lemish and what the baron would do. He's a blue collar, enlisted guy, more comfortable with machinery and technology than with people. The baron is married, retired military, and a grandpa.

Since Lemish subsector borders Vargr space, it seemed prudent to hire a Vargr. Khazgho Zen is retired marine Master Sargent. He grew up in the a ...More Read More

I am still figuring out how to do all this blog stuff.

Uploaded a new pic of Khazgho and the Baron. The Baron figures that if he is taking a job next door to Vargr space, it might be helpful to have a Vargr along. Khazgho knows absolutely nothing about Vargrs outside of the Imperium, but the Baron trusts him, and wants him to head the Baron's Huskaleers.

If any of this sounds mental, please bear with me. I am a wannabe writer.

Moved all pics in my gallery to my album. It may not be art ...More Read More

Been playing around with CC3, and came up with a new avatar/sigil/logo, incorporating the Imperial sunburst and the Drakonian Aerospace dragon.

Drakonian Aerospace is a fictious company I came up with some years ago when I was trying to get some sample chips to repair an old piece of electronics. Instead of explaining how I was just a private citizen, it was easier to give them a business name.

Drakonian Aerospace is a megacorp, or maybe just a corporation, that builds starships. Somewher ...More Read More
