Someone needs to explain to that Swedish teenage dropout that having a fossil-fuel powered snow thrower is a literal lifesaver for someone who is 68 with a LONG driveway to clear of heavy, wet, slushy snow. They also need to explain to her that without fossil fuels, Sweden would be starving with the number of people in it, and she would very likely not have the luxury of being "Vegan". How does she think all of those fruits and vegetables she is eating get to her table? Magic? A teleportati ...More Read More

Now that I have finally, after only 7 years, figured out how to add images to a post, I have to decided how much to do. I have a LOT of copyright-free images, so it will be a case of deciding which ones best show what I am trying to explain, without my getting into trouble. I do need to get to work on my image books, and hopefully, that will start soon. What I probably need to do is set a schedule of doing a few images every day, rather than trying to do an entire booklet at once. I do need ...More Read More

Well, I guess my D&D idea thread is coming to an end. Once a moderator weighs in and starts telling me what I should do, that pretty much ends things. Disagreeing with a moderator tends to end badly. Been there, done that. I guess I will just work out some of my ideas, along with bouncing them off of a friend who used to be a VP at TSR, back in the day when Gary was still running the show.

There was another attack on Christians in Africa, but the attacks on Jews in New York are also very ...More Read More

Well. I am back from home again, after being blocked for several days. I am not sure for the reason for the problem, or where the source was. I will just have to see how long the access lasts. While blocked, I did get some writing in on my D&D based story up to over 5500 words, so definitely not a short story. I have quite a ways to go on that. More later tonight.

Well, it is now Tuesday morning, somewhat early (of late, depending on your point of view), and it looks like I am still hav ...More Read More

Note to self: Do not comment on any Cepheus Engine product by any company. The only result is being landed on, even when the product is a bit strange. I definitely am odd man out when it comes to Cepheus Engine publishers. I have considered posting some of my rule changes online, but aside from the probability of having them used by someone else before I get my rules finished, I really do not have the time or energy to deal with all of the probable comments, except by saying this is how I vi ...More Read More

Christmas is a time of mixed feelings for me. Celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior is something that I look forward too, and I greatly enjoy giving presents, more than receiving them. However, this time of year does bring back memories of what has gone before. Our first son was born on December 16th, three months premature, and never made it home, living for 5 months in a Newborn Intensive Care Unit. He died on May 10th. That tends to temper some on the celebration, and there are t ...More Read More

I used Traveller verses OD&D as that is my choice as to what to work on presently. OD&D is the DriveThru term for older editions of Dungeons and Dragons, from the Little Tan Books to it looks like Advanced D&D. Right now, I am working on a mix of Blue Book D&D, Basic D&D, a bit of the Little Tan Books, along with my own home-brew additions. I downloaded several modules and a couple of rule set from DriveThru yesterday, some of which I also have as hard copy. I wanted the digital copies to ma ...More Read More

I guess I have greatly gotten behind with Daily Thoughts, as it has been two weeks since my last posting. I am not sure if I can get caught up, but I do need to post more than every two weeks.

With respect to my health, I keep alternating good days and bad days, but even that is not a given. I was at a Christmas get-together for the Sunday School class, and was doing okay, then suddenly, someone put a knife into the bottom of my left foot. That pretty much ended the evening for me, as I w ...More Read More

No, the Grey does not refer to a less intensive Black Friday, but to the clouds and fog that have settled in for the duration. I have only ventured out once on a Black Friday, and that was quite a few years ago to get an extremely good deal on a heavy duty mixer set for my wife, which has been well used over the years. Needless to say, the store was not that crowded.

Right now, a lot of people would love to see some sun. It is amazing how much your body is tuned to the sun. I discovere ...More Read More

I found a book on New Zealand from 1908 which looks a lot about how I picture the planet Vinland in the Out Rim Sector. The population is a bit higher, but if gives a good idea of how things might be if written by a studious visitng author. As I am trying to work up a longer planet description for it, this will be a great help. I may borrow some of the names of plants and trees for Vinland from the New Zealand book. I will have to see. The Tech Level is about right as well, roughly Tech Le ...More Read More
