Just an update for the players on my progress in backdating the setting from year 1105 Imperial (Travellermap data) to year -787 Pre-Imperial (that's about 3731AD - I haven't yet figured the Vilani date equivalent w those darn 486-day years ). [SBRD] Reavers' Deep - Setting for Adventure!

I have been reading every bit of historical notes that I can find about Reavers' Deep, and studying the maps at Travellermap.com. The more I read about this place, the more two things become clear: (1) this is going to be an AWESOME place to adventure! (2) I have a lot more work cut out for me than I had envisioned in deciding to run this campaign.

Sigh, another evening too tired to be very creative or organized. More Misc Notes.

Helped Michael and Chris (ErianFrost and ChaosBennett) with their chargen earlier, which gave us a chance to test out the Point-Buy system. It also showed us that my old Homebrew Extended Chargen is really just as bad as Books 4, 5, 6, 7 for creating skill-monsters, but then reducing the skills to reasonable levels w Point-Buy worked fairly well.

It looks like we will have a group of 4 to 6 players for this game, which seems like a nice size to have. So far we have 3 Yes, 1 Maybe, 1 No, and 2 that I have contacted but not heard back from. (Edit: Now 6 players, 2 waiting to hear back from.) (Edit 2: Full 8 players now; WooHoo!)

Huh, I'm new to this blogging stuff and forgot that blog posts will appear in order from newest to oldest, which is sort of the reverse of what I had planned in laying out info about my new PbP game. For prospective players, I recommend that you read in order from oldest to newest, the way I planned.

Cinematic Level for New PbP Game

One choice for the campaign that I forgot to include with the setting discussion, and am now thinking will be too large to edit into that blog post, is the level of Grittiness or Cinematic Realism. I see this as dividing into roughly four levels of realism, which I will detail below.
