Back Again?

Hello, friends, and thank you for your prayers and kind wishes.

I made it though the brain surgery and thought I was all good to go, but then the surgical meds wore off and I started vomiting a lot, plus the old pains came back in new and exciting locations, plus some totally new spike levels that will require me to revise my whole "pain levels 1-10" as the American doctors like to ask it.

That has been the past four days pretty much, as they experimented with various anti-nausea stuff so I could keep the meds and a tiny bit of food down.

Now I am home. Seemed a bit premature to me, as I was still sick and in terrible pain (10+) yesterday, but it seems that once somebody puts in the discharge papers, it starts an unstoppable process of slowly grinding gears that eventually either mangle you up or else spit you out on the sidewalk, ready to leave.

I actually do feel better at home in my own bed, although I'm not sure what i am supposed to do when the meds wear off and I need to buzz the nurse for more. My wife is a nurse, but we don't keep those kinds of meds in our cabinet - most are controlled or illegal for private use.

So...don't expect me back on regular basis in any PbP games for a few more weeks, but I plan to be lurking and making comments elsewhere, and we'll see how that goes.

But you know what? I find it isn't enough to just use that quote anymore, because then I have to explain the whole context, which kills the humor. Kids these days, no appreciation of the classics!
