In Moot Member Blogs Break in NTW: British Campaign Entry Tools Rate This Entry
  #37 New December 22nd, 2013 02:58 PM
This is a bit more on my Napoleon Total War solitaire campaign as the British. I plan to put this one on hold soon and start a new solitaire; haven't decided what nation yet, maybe Russia, or I might download one of the mods that let you play as minor nations like Denmark.

Reasons for putting this one on hold are:

1) Already achieved major campaign goal of conquering Spain. I landed Wellesley on the north coast near Pamplona, took that province and marched him down intending to meet Abercromby's forces near Madrid to take the capital. The Spanish AI had other plans, however, and sent all of its forces (including most of the Madrid garrison) out after Wellesley. Three battles later, Wellesley's force was battered but intact, while the Spanish forces were shattered and fleeing in different directions. Now I'm just mopping up the remnants, plus need to take Barcelona and the Belearic Islands. Then the official campaign wants me to go capture Denmark and Hannover, which seems odd as I am not even at war with the Danes, plus I'm more interested in expanding Mediterranean control to lock up the trade ports.

2) Michael and I got bored with our Prussia/Austria multiplayer game and started a new one as Great Britain and Prussia. Going back and forth from my British solitaire to playing the British in multiplayer is getting a bit confusing, keeping straight what forces are where and my plans for them.

3) With Thanatos and Timerover51 coming on board as new players in the SBRD campaign, I am hopeful that the action there will heat up and take more GMing time.
