So I have a new Traveller group. All the players are complete novices and we are using the Megatraveller rules to begin with and running a couple of CT adventures to see how it goes.
Yes I have recruited my 2 eldest kids and their friends to be my players, ages are 11 to 15. Wish me luck.
Ok, we're back. I've been gradually easing myself into the conversations on the boards and maybe I should make an announcement.
On October 19th 2009, exactly one year and a day after the stillbirth of Maggie, Alfred Phillip John was born by induction at Melrose. Things were a little touch and go for a while as though he was induced at 38 weeks it seems an error earlier meant he was probably only 36 weeks at birth. He was kept in Special Care due to a case of Respiratory Distress Syndrome an

So I've been away for a bit. Times have been bad, culminating ultimately in my wife delivering a stillborn baby at full term 3 weeks ago. Needless to say I have had little or no time for Traveller or any other game during this time. To be honest i just dropped offline barring my livejournal (catharsis really). The last few weeks have been especially hard due to a series of "unfortunate" events which have left us wondering where the hell our daughter's body was. But we've finally got her back an

Ewa Boissier reporting from the liberation of Markham where Confederation Marine forces continue to press on towards taking Stenhouse Downport. As we advance through what remains of Startown we are encountering fierce resistance from Imperial mercenary forces. Many of these are little better than criminals masquerading in uniforms.

This is Ewa Boissier embedded with 5 Troop of Charlie Company. We are now on the ground of planet Markham after a 5 day battle to achieve system superiority by the Fleet. I arrived here on the second assault wave riding down with Sergeant Munro's section in their combat lander. There was minimal resistance on the way down but we soon saw action here at Jehundai beach where attempts to create a bridgehe...More
Ok, let's take some time out from our intrepid reporter's views on the invasion of Markham.
On Friday afternoon I awoke (I had been on nights) and when I eventually switched on my laptop it froze after about two minutes. It has done this with increasing frequency of late, worrying me slightly as it is similar to the behaviour exhibited before my logic board blew. Anyway, I usually just reboot and everything is hunky dory.
This time as it booted there were a huge number of icons missing

In Jump to Markham (Old Expanses 3040)
Ewa Boisier reporting from the Marine deck of the Confederation Navy's heavy cruiser Gilgamesh, in jump for the lost worlds of the Old Expanses. Security around this mission is such that I cannot reveal specifics but since the war began the men and women of 732 Brigade of the Confederation Marine Force have been involved in a number of pathfinder missions, leading the main landing force retaking a number of Solomani worlds from ...More
Ok, so I was already keeping a kind of work blog on the Political Pulpit and I keep my livejournal (username- epocalypse...if you want to see the juicy bits there you need to be my friend) but this I think will be kind of handy.
So what shall I do here?
I'll use this for musings on Traveller, a few moans about work and some stuf on my take on the Gene War and the Solomani Marines and Massed Armies of the Confederation.
I may even keep a campaign log if my FTF group can get it together
