SpaceBadger's Blog: BBCodes stopped working in this Blog Description, so I moved my Links down to a Blog Entry and made it Sticky, so the latest new Blog Entries will actually be below (following) the Links entry.
There are bits and pieces of extra details of the setting that have developed in discussion threads and emails and PMs, and don't really have a good place to fit into the outline, but are worth keeping for reference. I'm going to try to remember to archive such bits in this blog post, to make them easier to find.
Misc Bits Added So Far
1. Money - offworld currency, debit cards, etc
2. Crew Staterooms
Border Map - Reavers' Deep and Daibei Sector: 3731 AD
Here is the first area map, which I have been working for awhile on getting just right (if you are interested in the process, read this thread post). This is a border map of Reavers' Deep and Daibei Sector as they are in 3731 AD, the time setting for our campaign. These were made using the Post procedure at Travellermap.com. I'll post this in three versions, all identical except for file format:
I just spent way too much time searching threads for what the ship had in cargo and freight, so I am making this blog page that I can keep updated (I hope) for easy reference of current cargo/freight/passenger status. Also, unless there is some length limit on blog posts that I haven't run into yet, I will just keep pushing the older notes down the page to create a log of what the ship has bought, sold, or carried from different ports.
I've been making worlds w basic LBB3 rules and UWP, except that the sector data that I downloaded from Travellermap had T5 extensions included, so I've had to consider what to do with those. I've now had the opportunity to examine the new code explanations at Travellermap, and have decided to adopt some of that stuff (particularly in Rem codes) and discard other parts.
Just so you know, here is the format I am using for extended UWP (Universal World Profile): ...More
Following an excellent suggestion by Hans Rancke, I reviewed the trade rules in GURPS Interstellar Wars and agree with his assessment that these retain the simplicity of the LBB2 trade and commerce rules, but with some problems fixed and a few common sense changes. The IW rules did take out a few things that I wanted to retain, and also did not include any application of the Broker and Trader skills from CT. Our final Trade and Commerce Rules presented below are a m

I have been reminded again that at least three of our players in this campaign are not very familiar (if at all) with the history of the OTU. Combine that with the fact that our campaign is set in a remote border of the OTU, and is set about 2000 years in the past with respect to most OTU campaigns, and I think that maybe a bit of history is in order for everyone (all of your characters would know at least the basics of this; if you have someone w low Edu th

And here is an extended article on Devonia; eventually I want to have something like this in Library Data on each of the major systems in our campaign setting:
Devonia (Reavers' Deep 3125) C566674-8 Ag Ni 213
Size: 8000 km (5), Atmo: Standard, Hydro: 60%
Pop: 2 M, Balkanized, LL: 4,

[SBRD] Urlaqqash Subsector basic stats
Here are the system names and UWPs for Urlaqqash subsector (location Reavers' Deep subsector L) in the year 3731 AD. If you wonder why uninhabited systems have a mainworld listed, blame it on RoM Scout procedures requiring identification of an expected site for colonization, no matter how unlikely; SOP may not always make sense, b
