People keep sending me "bug" reports for HGS. I ***REALLY*** appreciate them (very definitely don't want them to stop). However one thing "bugs" me about them. HGS doesn't have "bugs" it has "errors" The difference may seem semantic and mostly it is (I do know that when people say bugs they mean errors).

You see, to me a bug is an evil little gremlin that sneaks into a program while you're not looking due to no fault of your own. An error on the other hand is a mistake that I have made th ...More Read More

Well that's the bays done. Starting to get to the point of useful refits. On to the turrets now.

LSVTP breeds cats. We currently have two litters and they have just discovered the importance of seizing the high ground in their "rampaging". No where is safe.

The further I go the more complicated it gets. Coding 100T bays is giving me a headache (literally), just so many interlinked variables and its only going to get worse

This one takes the refit options up to spinal mounts. Note if you change the type of spinal mount (eg from meson to PA) you can screw up the weapons fit elsewhere and will need to manually fix it. It should however at least warn you about it. Now working on bay weaponry and dreading moving to turrets (and not even thinking about craft: shudder.)

Latest stable release remains 1.3.0.6

Well for the last week I've been slowly plowing my way through the avionics upgrade option for HGS. It has been a mammoth task, seemingly never ending. Mostly due to the need to keep support for T20. But the end is now in sight (walking distance) and LSVTP has bought me a bottle of Jamison so I'm happy.

And after this, on to spinal mounts.

I really wasn't going to do this, but in the process of coding v2 I found a memory leak. This is now fixed and thus v1.30 comes into existence.

The changes are as follows
1) Memory leak fixed (with extreme prejudice)
2) Full support for T20
3) Adds an option to fit as flagship. This firstly will add a requirement to carry the admiral and ten staff. It also allows the addition of a flag bridge (treat as a normal bridge but with a maximum size of 200 Tons) and a flag computer (a normal back ...More Read More

Don't you love it when you're working through an app and you find a memory leak that's been sitting there undetected for over ten years. Well now fixed and will release an interim fix soon (there are half finished things that would make a broken release if it went out now.) Any how slowly plugging on.

Do you know how many times things in the High Guard design system reference something in the engineering section? I do now, and its a VERY big number and I have to go through and add a switch for refitted or non-refitted to every single one of them. Four hours on and I'm about half way through.

Hopefully the other sections will not be as intensive.
