In either 1998 or 1999 I was at Starfleetgames.com, and ventured into the forums, being an old Trek and SFB fan. I wandered into a thread addressing the Tholian homeworld, or rather its base, or the base that protected the homeworld in the Milky Way (not the Tholians home galaxy).

A few issues; in the old designer's edition (possibly the zip lock edition too, though I'm not sure) a planet was said to be able to have up to a number of ground bases (a full starbase) for each hex side. Apparently Tholia was unique in that it had one starbase, with its six modules being divided among the six planetary hexagonal facings. What to do about the 360 super-phaser banks.

I suggested they be put at the poles. At which point the response was that that was a brilliant idea, but I was never acknowledged for it, much less welcome to the site even though I did introduce myself.

It was not the first time, nor the last.

And I'm pretty angry about it.

Another reason not to play SFB anymore.

Something tells me that I have to fire off another complaint, only to the navy. I wonder what that's going to be like.
